I have a treadmill, mats, air mat, dumbbells (various weights), kettle bell, and exercise ball. But mostly I run now (30 miles a week). I’m almost 58.

Check with your doctor first if you’re not sure. I was fine after 8 weeks with my 4.

I’ll tell you how I became a runner in her 50s starting at almost 240 pounds. As an old heavy lady, my saggy arms along with the rest of my body were getting the best of me. I really needed to feel better. I started walking in my yard and my house with light weights doing various arm exercises. Then I got faster, stopped…

I would eat very little without carbs. I’m a 57 year old vegetarian who lost 70 pounds in the last couple of years. My youngest is 16 (oldest 35) and I have 2 kiddos with special needs. I learned that I have to prioritize myself in order to take care of everyone else. Calories in - calories out. Somehow I’m a runner now,…

You can add me. I lost 70 pounds after the pandemic. I’m 57 and a runner. Been on MFP for a long time. This time I’ve logged in for over 1,000 days in a row. Consistency got me here.

Well I’m 57 and cardio absolutely works. I took up running and lost 70 pounds. Of course I log all my food to keep track. My main motivation besides health was I want to be able to move as I get older. Consistency and showing up for yourself are key.

On Instagram I follow Denise Austin, Chris Powell, and Heidi Powell. All three are super motivating with lots of tips.

I don’t have a lot to add. But my son works at Burger King and I’m a vegetarian. An impossible whopper is too many calories for me. Plus my parents and BIL smoked and died early. That’s motivation for me to never smoke.

I’ve lost 50 pounds and still have about 25 more to lose. My stomach just hangs more - I’ve had 4 C-sections over 3 decades (my 20s, 30s, and 40s). I’ve pretty much accepted it.

I’m almost 53 with about 40 to lose. I would love to give and get encouragement.

Hi, I am Kim and live near Philadelphia. I am 47 and have been a SAHM for 10 years. I have a grown daughter, and three kids at home - a son 15', daughter 10, and daughter 6. Two of my kids have special needs (autism and related issues) so I tend to put my needs on the back burner. But we are going to Disney World August…
