Maybe you should just tell them the truth, IF they're offended by honesty then I suppose that's their problem. Rigger

My strategy is to make sure I have enough chips for my seven layer dip. Rigger

The more important question is, Why do you need to detox? Are your liver, kidneys, and bowels not functioning? And if not, how are you still alive? Rigger

It's typically women who say this, so here is the proper response, it'll get you a laugh and turn the tables. Pretend you didn't quite hear what they said, smile really big, reach for her belly with both hands and say this. "Oh my God! You're pregnant? Congratulations! I thought you had just put on a few extra pounds."…

It doesn't seem ridiculous, it IS ridiculous. The reason is because they are not studying nutrition, but they want to have some background in it, and generalizations are easier than specifics. Learning to be a PT is more about selling yourself than anything. Not to disparage personal trainers, certainly there are many who…

Well, if that's really the case, why is it even a question? You're so concerned about offending these people by not accepting cookies, but you're willing to lie to them about why you can't? How is that any more respectful? Rigger

I don't know what it is, and I don't think I'll bother taking the time to find out, but since it's been mentioned in the same breath as Dr. Oz I'll just say no. Rigger

Well, as he said, he's not a nutritionist. My cousin is in school to be a PT, in his nutrition class they recommend 1200 for women and 1800 for men regardless of stats. I wouldn't take the nutrition advice offered by a personal trainer unless they actually knew something about nutrition. Rigger

Compare yourself to the person you were yesterday. Do that every day and you'll be so focused on making yourself better you won't have time to worry about how you compare to the people around you. Rigger

You don't have to accept them, you're not Santa Claus. Politely decline, they're just trying to butter you up anyway, just like I would if the government sent someone after me. It's the first step to try to better their situation, and comes slightly before trying to figure out what to do with the body. Rigger

Thanks for the intel, Time to make another order. OP, I have 2-3 per week. Rigger

I don't have a problem with it, red means stop in my book. Then again, I'm the type of non PC individual who thinks that all sporting events should end with a winner and a loser, even if it's four year olds playing the game. I also don't think people should get trophies for participation, so take it for what it's worth.…

This. I can cook anything they can, and better. I still have fast food for dinner every Wednesday because I'm just not near a kitchen that day. That said, I try to get something that's in line with my macros. Lately I have taken a liking to Panda Express' Shanghai steak, teriyaki chicken breast, and steamed veggies.…

Being lazy on your diet should not compel you to be lazy in general. Rigger

3-2 breathing. Three paces on the inhale, two paces on the exhale. It takes some practice before it becomes natural, but it works. Rigger

Go to a running specialty shop and have them check your gait, try on and run in several pairs of shoes from several different makers, and be prepared to spend some coin. Personally, I have a pair of Hoka's and I wouldn't trade them for the world, but there are a lot of good running shoes out there, just depends on your…

On one hand she is still growing, and sounds pretty active, so I wouldn't worry about it. On the other hand, It's never a bad Idea to ask your kids to have a piece of fruit or some veggies with a meal. My kids get one or both on every plate. For the most part though, as long as kids are active they can get away with eating…

I'm a little fuzzy on what bad foods are. Help me out here, what makes a food good or bad, other than taste? Rigger

Umm, No. Muscle doesn't weigh more than fat, it merely takes up less space. Fat doesn't magically convert into muscle, and if he's lifting in a deficit he is not building muscle. Additionally, cardio and less weights? Really? Cardio is great for the heart and lungs, but when you're losing weight, you need to lift,…

TDEE, Google it. I average mine over several different calculators, people seem to like the one on IIFYM though. Rigger
-
You need to eat more, based on those numbers 2100-2200 calories a day. TDEE-20% is good to go, eating below BMR is not. Rigger
-
Good call, need to log accurately OP, otherwise you have no idea what you're eating. Still, just arbitrarily reducing your calories without good cause is a no go, and 1700 is nowhere near enough to fuel that level of activity. Rigger

I'm addicted to it (just finished watching two episodes) I'm on season four right now. Rigger

Are you eating back any exercise calories? I am 30, built like you, and started at 264. I only lift 3-4 days a week, and do about half as much cardio and I was losing on 2500 per day, now at 199 and eating 2300 per day with the same routine. You may not be eating enough. Rigger

Nope, I weigh in every day, I only make it "official" on Friday. Ne need to stress, it's just a number, and your cheap bathroom scale is just guessing anyway. Rigger
