  • I lost 60 pounds ten years ago, I was in a healthy weight range and within 10 pounds of my UGW and then life happened and I gained all but 20 back. I yo yo’d up and down for a few years and then I got extremely depressed a few years ago and gained another 25 pounds over my previous all time high. I’m finally back on track,…
  • My sister in law always gifts me these at Christmas and birthdays and they’re my favorite. I can shove it into my purse or a pocket when I’m heading to the store and they’re very sturdy.…
  • I did with my second pregnancy. It really helped me make sure I wasn’t overdoing it with food and that I was staying at the prescribed number of carbs per meal. My first pregnancy, I didn’t get to meet with a nutritionist about my GD and so I just did low carb and ended up in ketosis a lot of my pregnancy so they thought I…
  • Is this a roommate situation? I just kind of ignored any food that wasn’t mine when I was sharing space with roommates. If I didn’t buy it, I didn’t eat it. Living with my family that indulges in treats more often than I’d like to, I kind of just eat what fits in my day and try to ignore the goodies when they don’t fit.…
  • I'm a binge eater myself. Something that has helped me was learning that research indicates that our peak enjoyment of our food happens within the first few bites. Practicing more mindful eating can be helpful. If I'm going to eat a cookie, I sit down and I savor the cookie because it's a treat. When it turns into just…
  • Also a good rule of thumb is to look at weekly trends. So if I go over by 50 calories one day but I'm under by 100 another day, it's all probably going to shake out at the end of the week. You can actually look at your weekly intake through the app and it will tell you how far over or under you are for the the past 7 days.
  • I've read that the liquid in a can of beans can be used as an egg replacement. https://www.glueandglitter.com/2015/04/14/aquafaba-magical-egg-replacer-for-vegan-meringue-recipes-and-beyond/
  • I know for me, I have bad knees so when they're bugging me, I'll do the leg press at the gym. On that machine, I can choose to do 100 lbs instead of squatting with my 220+ pounds of body weight, it's a little easier on my joints and I'm still doing resistance training.
  • OP never gave us any info about intake, height or weight so this is absolutely not helpful advice here. I personally cut way back on sugar and carbs myself OP but only because that helps me with satiety. As far as weight loss, it really does come down to accuracy in your logging.
  • The salted caramel mocha is my favorite fall drink. Getting it with fat free milk and half the syrup makes it way easier to work into my day every now and then.
  • A venti cold brew with coconut milk and a Splenda rings in at something like 50 calories and is TASTY
  • Do you have access to a microwave? My go to thing are those steamer bags of veggies from the freezer section, just pop it in the microwave for 5 minutes et voila. That and a rotisserie chicken and you're golden.
  • Cookie and Kate is a really great blog I love to mine for my meatless recipes every now and then.
  • I don't but the only reason I don't is because I've already factored my exercise into my activity level. I used to set my activity level to sedentary and just eat back 50%-75% of my exercise calories (which worked perfectly fine for me). But I've been a lot more active just in my day to day life on top of my intentional…
  • Seriously, the food scale has changed the way I eat completely. It adds no real time to my food prep and my weight loss is consistent when I do it. I've had a pretty healthy diet since I had kids but its really easy to overeat even a healthy diet. Two servings of a healthy entree is still two servings. If you just log an…
  • I use unsweetened coconut milk with just a liiiiitle heavy cream to get that full rich flavor and then a packet of Splenda.
  • I replace my rice with cauliflower, first of all (much lower carb than rice). One of my favorite things to do is fry up a tilapia filet in a little butter and garlic. Super simple, fast and tasty. When I'm feeling lazy, I open a can of tuna, toss in some mayo, a handful of celery, onion, broccoli and pickles. (Sorry this…
  • I'm pre-diabetic and this happens to me when I eat a sugary/carb heavy meal (part of why I'm doing low carb most days).
  • 24 pounds in 12 weeks is actually a pretty solid rate of weight loss. How long has it been since you've lost any weight? If it's just like a couple of weeks, that really not anything to worry about.

  • I think my most important staples are spices. I use Cumin and chili powder like crazy so I always have that on hand. Also hot sauce (almost always zero calories and makes just about anything more delicious). Frozen steamer bags of veggies are great if you're trying to round out a meal.
  • I think it's nice, especially this time of year. It's resolution time, the forums are flooded with "help me" threads and this is good information.
  • In a pinch, I like to make my own chocolate bark. It's super simple, foolproof, and you can kind of just throw in whatever you want. I personally like to use dark chocolate. Melt a couple bags of dark chocolate chips, mix in whatever you want (I like sliced almonds and dried fruit like cherries or craisins or something)…
  • http://cookieandkate.com/2016/vegetarian-enchiladas-recipe/ This is a good and super easy recipe, tons of veggies, delicious. I've modified it a little to better suit my tastes though (I omit the cinnamon and replace it with a teaspoon of chili powder). And I topped it with plain Greek yogurt for a little protein boost.
  • My husband knows how much I love goodies. And it's really hard for him to resist bringing them to me. He actually works right next to this ridiculously fabulous dessert cafe. And he kept bringing home goodies I had a hard time resisting. So I asked him to please ask me in the future before bringing them home so I can…
  • I only weigh once a week anyway so I wouldn't bring my body scale, personally. Daily fluctuations are too stressful for me to focus on. My food scale, on the other hand, especially if I was just going to spend time with family, I would 100% bring that.
  • I always drink egg nog so this year I'm going to make sure I have room for a glass on the day we decorate for Christmas, on thanksgiving after dessert and some on Christmas Eve.
  • They have black bean noodles that are fun. I also really like their soups in the cardboard containers. My favorites are the roasted red pepper and tomato, and the black bean soup. When I'm in a pinch, their frozen section is great for reasonably healthy food fast. They have tons of frozen veggies so sometimes I'll grab the…
  • I'll barbecue salted and peppered chicken wings or cook them up in a skillet, then eat it with barbecued zucchinis or summer squash and a salad. For accurate logging, I weigh the chicken before I eat and then weigh the bones and skin after to find out the weight of what I ate.
  • I'm always over on my fat, even on my meat free days. I worry a lot less about that than I do about my calorie intake and trying to at least come close to hitting my protein goal. It's working for me so far
  • She might have gained 1 pound or even 2 pounds but she said the scale was up 3k. Isn't that pretty close to 6 pounds (or more)? I think it's safe to say that the majority of what OP is seeing is water weight/waste.
