I think it is very person dependent. I personally prefer to do it in the morning. If I get up and get moving right away I am much more likely to get it done then if I have all day to get tired/come up with excuses not to do it.

Hello! I started at 241. At 5'5" that put me in the morbidly obese bmi, I have lost 34 pounds and am just obese. Anxiously awaiting the day I become 'overweight'. Feel free to add me!

If he hasn't done yoga previously, I strongly recommend he take a few classes at a studio so instructors can help with form. In my area there are always Groupon deals at just about every school in the area.

amazing results for only 2 weeks! Keep it up

Awesome! Keep it up!

I weigh myself first thing every morning for similar reasons to yours. However, I use my Sunday weigh in as my "official" one for the week and that is the only weight that gets logged.

As long it is just muscle soreness and not legitimate pain, I just fight through it. If you rest for a couple days every time your body is sore, you won't get anywhere. If it is actual pain, your body is telling you something is wrong and you should not fight through it.

Enjoy it, you're in Rome!

I agree with pp that rest days aren't do absolutely nothing days. I still do an hour of yoga and if it isn't too cold take a nice walk with the dogs. If you get that anxious about you have other issues you need to work out.

Did you gain weight before you lost? This happened to me because I joined MFP and couple years ago, lost about 30lbs and then got off track. When I came back and input my new weight, it didn't start saying I had lost until I got back down to my lowest weight I had logged previously. For example: If you started at 200 lbs…

Yeah but as long as the container is closed they will stay contained and you can eat them like croutons.

I am also up 8lbs since Christmas. I know most of it is bloat as I didn't eat that much out of the ordinary. It's slow coming off (only 2 lbs of it gone since Christmas) but I know if will. I got back to work tomorrow and will get back into a routine so hopefully that will help0

Sunday is my rest day so I won't do a 'work out' I do plan to take a nice long walk with the dogs and husband though.
-
you look amazing! Keep up all your hard work.

My normal rest day is Sunday so since x-mas happens to fall on Sunday, I will rest. If it was on any other day of the week I would workout like normal. Since you haven't had a rest day in months I highly recommend taking it off. Not because it's Christmas, but because our bodies need a break once in a while.

I don't have cheat days because I feel like it would be an excuse for me to binge. I do my best to stay within my calorie goals and some days my best isn't every good. I accept that and move on.
-
You need more realistic expectations. That is actually quite fast, as cliché as it sounds, you didn't gain it overnight so you won't lose it overnight.
-
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I'm not going to worry much about calories but every other day I will be sticking to my calorie goals.
-
I think it's personal preference. I much prefer to workout at home. Plus I'm more likely to do it because I can't make excuses (bad weather, etc, etc) for not leaving the house. Figure out what you would prefer and be more likely to do and go from there.

Wow, thanks for sharing! It's mind blowing. I have lost weight just by measuring (vs not measuring and eating whatever I want) but it is slowing down and now I think I might know why. I have a food scale but never use it, guess it's time to break that puppy out...

I log it as circuit training.
-
Count me in... I have recently lost 28lbs. Have 68 more to go.
-
I'm starting today! Good luck to you.

It's great that you cut all that out but are you logging calories? It is likely that you are still consuming more calories then you burn. Were you gaining before? Was it a faster rate then 3 lbs/month? Again, great changes you have made, and I don't want to minimize them, they just might not be enough for weight loss.

Down, 27 lbs with 69 more to go. Feel free to add me.

I don't know any of the science behind it but in my personal experience my heart rate (and calorie burn) is higher during cardio if I do my strength training first.

I have seen studies ( it's been a long time, so can't link) that suggest that the aspertame and artificial sweeteners they put in diet sodas trigger a hunger response and lead to eating more which leads to weight gain. On there own though, no they won't as long as you are careful to not eat more

It's hard to say because it depends a lot on the effort you put in. In one level in can vary for me between about 199 and 350 depending on effort.
