My husband is gluten and dairy free. The kids (almost 6 and 7) and I aren't, per se. So some meals are made for all of us and other days, he's on his own. Some snacks are his alone, some are the kids and some are mine. Others we all can (and do) eat. His eating habits have taken a big step down the last few months. As a…

I like my Family Practitioner overall. If I ask for a referral, she'll happily write one and explain why it's to that person and if I need something different, come back and we'll try something else. As for weight loss, pretty much all we've talked about is that I should lose some. The 1st part of 2015 was just miserable…

My scale died a while back but I'm thinking about replacing it. I weigh myself at my Mom's about every 2-4 weeks. Measurements when I feel like it. But when I did have a working scale, I weighed myself daily, after going to the bathroom and before eating and showering.

I managed it briefly when my gall bladder first started acting up. I was scared to eat so I stuck to broth and 1 toasted bagel a day. Since it was March (and then May when my gall bladder was removed) I was also drinking hot tea with a bit of sugar and milk in it. There's no way I was eating/drinking 1200 calories. Which…

This thread made me curious. My BMI for my current weight is a tad under the highest level for "overweight" and my goal weight is a tad under "normal weight" I used http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm as it was the first one on my google search.

I'm having one of those days right now. The last 2 days I had calories to spare. Today, not so much. Tomorrow might not be good either. But if it's bad, like others said, I just pick up and move back to being more watchful/mindful/better. It took me time to gain the weight, it's going to take time to lose it.

I'm aiming for 150 lbs because I felt best about myself at that weight. I'll reassess as I feel necessary as I make this journey.

My neighbor brought home peaches from the South and sent his daughter over with a dozen or so. I brought one in for my snack at work. OMG it was amazing. And promptly started up my sugar cravings. :-( Plus I'm bored and procrastinating on something.

My husband and I were both diagnosed as having fertility issues that would need medical attention to resolve. We talked, decided we were good childless and move on with our lives. 2 accidental kids in 18 months later; DH got fixed. And I started feeling worse and worse. Got to the point where I asked my doctor to screen me…

My gallbladder decided to not like me in March. I was afraid to eat for the next few days after the first (and major) attack. I was pretty much living on broth and bagels. In about 2 weeks, I dropped 10 lbs. Over the next 4-6 weeks, I lost another 5. Then I had my gall bladder removed and was back to being afraid to eat…

Why is the dairy from April and not something more current?
-
That makes more sense to me. Thank you.

Ok, I watched it. Semantics but I'd call that cup of oats a heaping cup, not a level one. ;-P And I underestimate PB but I take the point, more or less. Still not sure I'm willing to deal with a food scale right now.

So I'm an idiot and just restarting here. Why the emphasis on weighing food? If I'm eating a small gala apple for snack, I'm using the DB for foods here and selecting small gala apple to add to my log. Is weighing it really going to make that much of a difference for it? I NEED to measure better for dinners and weekends, I…

I did. I was happiest with my body around 150.

Same here on the logging the next day.

My husband is gluten and dairy free. Meals can be interesting at our house. We're been working to try to blend more of his foods into the foods the kids and I eat. Some days are easier than others though.

Awesome!

Thanks!

This is really helpful for me right now. So thank you! I've got nothing for the OP though. I have noticed, since I'm using MFP that I'm ok, usually at work. It's weekends and dinner/evenings that are revealed as my problem times for eating. So I'm starting to work on that.

I chose sedentary because I sit on my butt for about 7.5 hours a day at work. But at home I'm moving much more as we have 2 kids, laundry room is in the basement, etc. I don't log any of that as exercise because to me, it's part of my daily lifestyle. Is this how everyone considers daily tasks at home?

I'm starting over too. I dropped about 20+ lbs on the "gall bladder hating me" diet earlier this year and I want to keep it off and lose more. For the record - I don't really recommend the gall bladder diet. I spent about 2 months being afraid to eat or drink pretty much anything after spending 1 night having a gall…

Yeah. You want to consider reminding your daughter that if someone hurts her feelings, even grandmother, she can tell them that.

+1 My Dad sees a nutritionist every so often. He's borderline diabetic at 75. And he's on blood thinners.

This was earlier this week. I had 1172 in food calories, burned 300+ working in the garage/car cleaning (estimated) and had 600+ left over.
-
I think we've got something similar. Not sure what DH paid for it though. It's been languishing in the cupboard...

I am so not a runner. :-) Plus, I can't exactly leave my work to run instead of getting Twizzlers. Although I could have walked instead of lunch. The area's iffy but at noon it's ok.
-
Yeah, I'm not really beating myself up over it. I'm now at the top of the MFP calorie count for today. I'll be doing house stuff tonight so no gym time. And really, I'm pretty sure before I joined up here I was eating closer to 2500-3000 calories a day anyway. I also caved on Twiizzlers but that was boredom and not PMS. 5…

Yeah, I'll probably be eating salad for dinner. Or a Lean Cuisine.

Thanks! Yeah, DH pretty much manages his own diet/cooking/shopping. Which includes shopping at 3-4 different stores a week. But it's been a weird journey for us. He offers his stuff to the kids and sometimes they accept, sometimes not. Often the same food on different days...
