I am currently 5'6 155 pounds...when I was younger I got up to 180-188 and started exercising to lose weight. I wan to lose more weight to lower my body fat and was wondering if 120 would be too low for me. I'm currently not that big, but I would feel better if I lost a little more. Or would 130 be better?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You don't have to choose your final goal now. If you get to 130 and you like it, you can stay there. If you don't like it, you can attempt another ten pounds.

You could put your stats into a BMI calculator. That would at least give you somewhere to start, even if not a perfect answer for all scenarios. Ultimately, in a healthy weight range, the exact number is largely personal preference.0

Its truly up to you and how you feel about it. They say a healthy weight is 120-133, however if you add more muscle you can weigh more than that easily and still be healthy.0

if you have a lot of muscle, 130 will look smaller than 130 of someone with less muscle. So you kind of have to wait until you're there to judge. Those are both in the healthy range, so it's a matter of how you want to look.0

I would just wait to see what you look like and then choose for yourself. I am 5'6". I've been 120 pounds in the past and when I see pictures from back then, I look very frail and thin. Right now I like how I look in the 148-152 range, aside from a bit of fat in my midsection. I have no idea what my final weight will be once that's gone but I'm guessing it would be in the upper 130s to lower 140s. But we're all built differently so we can't really advise you on that and what you like, aesthetically, might not be what we like.0

I wouldn't worry about a weight number so much as i would a body fat range.0

It's probably the bottom range of a healthy BMI for your height, if not just over the line into underweight. I'd say 130 would be good, especially if you do some body recomp with a good weight lifting program.0

118-154 is about the range of a healthy BMI at 5'6". Depending on your body type and the lean mass you carry, you may even find 130 to be too small.0

Thanks for your responses everyone! I'll just try to see which weight is the most comfortable and healthy as some of you have suggested.
