Going under 1200 calories message.

The other day after completing my daily logging, I got the "you're not eating enough" message from MFP. I've gotten it several times and I'm wondering how many times I can not worry about it before I should start to worry. On that particular day, I ate when I was hungry and it was meal/snack time. I didn't have a chance to be bored (I eat when I'm bored, I'm working on it.)

MFP has me on 1520 calories a day. I don't weigh food and I use the db instead of creating my own foods so I'm fairly sure I'm underestimating calories.

The house/yard work exercises I use MFP's numbers. For the stuff I do at the gym, I use the machine's numbers.

So, dipping under 1200 calories once a month is probably not a big deal. When should it become one?

  • Do you dip under 1200 calories after you subtract your activities?

Or do you never get to 1200 food intake calories?

when you start doing it every day for weeks on end. when you start freaking out if you even come close to eating 1200 calories.

Once in awhile its fine. In fact if you look at 5:2 fasting, it's 2 days of really low calories and 5 days of eating at maintenance.

This was earlier this week. I had 1172 in food calories, burned 300+ working in the garage/car cleaning (estimated) and had 600+ left over.
