Hi there! I'm a newbie to this, and just had a question. You said that when you were eating 1700 the scales didn't budge. Does this mean that 1700 is your maintenance? For a loss, wouldn't you subtract from this for a further calorie deficit? How does adding calories lead to a loss. Sorry, I'm just confused. I'm…

Wow you look AMAZING!!! My husband was following his routine for about a month and saw some great results! It's interesting to see how his program would be on a women! You look fab!!

I've actually seen a few people do this. Instead of an office chair, use a stability ball. This will keep your core engaged the whole time you are sitting on it!

Thanks for starting this! I've been on this method for one week as well and can't believe how my results are to the T. SW: 139 March 5: 137.2 I'm averaging a deficit of 4154 calories per week, so my 1.2 loss is dead on!

I'm wondering, how would I be able to accurately reflect the number of calories burned by strength training into my activity calories? I know cardio can be accounted for, but weight lifting is a little bit more complicated.
-
Yes, you would add everything, basically anything over the 543, you should eat...So eat 65 more calories so that your deficit remains at 1000, not over 1000. The goal is to be at most 1000. I hope this helps!

Thanks so much for getting back to me... Now just one more question, I promise... Currently my stats are: BMR: 1302 Maintenance: 1692 Exercise: 610 I know that it says not to eat less than my BMR which is 1302. Today after setting my calories remaining to 1692, I've eaten about 700 calories so far, which means my new…

I'm just wondering, I've set up all of my numbers and stats and I am now on track. As far as exercise goes, I want to make sure that I log my exercise calories accurately so that I can get an accurate deficit count. What would you say is the best method for calculating calories burned? MFP exercise tracker, or should I…

Today is my Day 3 of the South beach diet.. and I know you're not supposed to weigh yourself every day, but I have been just out of curiosity to see if this is actually working... and I've lost almost 3lbs. I've been on MFP and other calorie tracking websites since March 2010 and have lost 18lbs in the first three months,…

Thank you all for the help and feedback. It is definetly much appreciated. I think the general consensus is that I should be eating more calories. I generally do not eat back my exercise calories. So I think i'll start aiming at eating 1300-1500 calories a day. I'm just sooo worried that doing this will cause me to gain…
