  • I'm due March 13th. Please add me! This is my second too. My first I gained 41 lbs, then lost 55! After I weaned, I gained back to my exact prepregnancy weight. I'm at 32 weeks and gained 37 lbs so far. Feeling really run down and tired this time around. Looking forward to a Spring maternity leave.
  • I can't seem to find where I placed my notes from our first class, so here goes: Most of our first class was a lot of discussion about what we'll be doing this month. We did do a 10-min exercise with counting to 10 breaths and re-starting at 1 whenever the mind wanders. Also a partner exercise where we sat opposite with…
  • Not much activity at all. I'm due Nov 11 with my first, a girl. I've put on about on about 30 pounds and I'm 33.5 weeks now. I figure it'll be about 40 pounds total. Almost time to find a message board for loosing baby weight!
  • Yup, 30 weeks in and gained about 28 pounds. Every single appt. my dr. wants to caution me about my weight gain. I have MFP set to gain 1/2 pound a week. No matter how good (or bad) of choices I make, I still gain 1-1.5 lbs a week. At this point, I'll worry about loosing the weight in a few months. Sick of worrying about…
  • Thanks so much for posting yoginimary.
  • The past three days I've been on a sugar high. I need to start eating oatmeal for breakfast again...I think I destabilized my blood sugar with English muffins and jam for breakfast and never recovered! I just hate feeling sick from all the sugar late in the day.
  • I know a lot of people swear by Jade. Let us know how it works for you.
  • That is amazing! I have only once been able to achieve a comfortable full lotus and that was after a very nice Yin class where all we did was hip openers. My right hip is completely different and much worse than my left, so I've always been able to do a half-lotus...that darn right hip finally opened up and it was amazing.…
  • I've been tracking with my calories set to gain 0.5 lb per week but I've been gaining 1.5 lbs/week lately. Trying to remember we are retaining a bunch of fluids too. Up to 21 lbs at 25 weeks. Trying to just shrug off the weight gain and eat as healthfully as possible and keep exercising.
  • Sounds awesome! Let us know how it goes.
  • Awesome! I'll have to look at these sometime.
  • Nov 11th too! This is my first and I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible. I did tell my husband that I'm sure not going to enjoy working off the extra weight, so I'm going to enjoy putting it on! I think I enjoyed that a little tooooo much the first trimester so I'm being much more careful this second trimester and…
  • That's great!
  • My husband and I are also starting to try for #1. Looking forward to it, but also looking for motivation to exercise and eat healthy when I know I'll shortly be putting weight on, not trying to take some off.
  • I've been challenged this past year with maintaining a consistent practice, so that's definitely a goal. My basic downdog needs more tweaking and I want to strengthen my adductors/Sartorius muscles around my hips . I've been trying out different studios around town and I think I've found a home. I think I can get closer to…
  • I'm in
  • Used to hate hate hate pigeon, very painful but with practice it's gotten better. Anyforward bend is fun because I have very flexible hamstrings. Also love headstand and the tripod. Agree with getting good instructors to make me back out of poses I sink into and develop strength instead.
  • Oh yes, yogi friends for me as well! My fiance gets bored hearing me talk about trying to do crow and peacock and analyzing the directions my hips will/will not move in.
  • I did the video once and thought it was terrible, not very consistent and annoying instructors.
  • I've seen hot yoga listed as high as 500 calories/hour. For me, after going to a vinyasa or power style yoga class lasting 75 minutes, I discount the last 15 minutes due to the shivasana and passive stretching poses and just assume 350 calories/hour. I'm 33 and weigh 130 lbs, if that helps.
