  • I use a protein powder called FormulX. They are new and they pride themselves on being "clean". I have the vanilla and its DELICIOUS! I use almond milk and add kale, spinach and fruit to it and its a complete meal. It keeps me full and I feel really good. http://www.formulx.com/
  • I just got this protein powder from a semi-new company called FormulX, which prides itself on being clean and almost-paleo (except for the whey, of course). I don't know how much shipping to you would be, but I am sure they would work with you. Like I said they are new, and they are really nice and respond to inquiries…
  • Just cause MFP says something, doesn't make it the ideal for you. I was told to take your weight, cut it in half and eat that many grams of protein a day, so in my book, you could probably eat a few more grams of protein. Try eating more veggies and less complex carbs (like rice or quinoa). I think you are doing great!…
  • First, I have to say, your caloric intake is probably 80-90% of your weight loss. Exercise just defines your muscles and takes off a few more calories. I was an Herbalife salesperson for a while and all it did was deplete my finances. I will never use it again! It's a pyramid scheme. You can get all your nutrients from…
  • The trick is to do something different. If we do the same thing all the time, we plateau. Do something different. Eat more one day, exercise more some days and less others. Change up your workout. Maybe try weights, kettlebells or a workout consisting of push ups, sit ups, squats, lunges and things that just use your own…
  • Wow, thanks everyone! I am excited to try these!!
  • I'm so sorry you are going through this. I just found out about "orthorexia nervosa" and it sounds like what your sister is going through. Not that it helps much to put a label on something, but maybe you can Google it. I have been through many eating disorders and the longer we suffer with them, the tougher it is to get…
  • Wow, I had no idea. I have been on diets like this, but they never lasted very long. I was obsessed about what I put in my mouth and had many of these symptoms. But I can't be surprised, cause I have gone through all of the other eating disorders. Anything that turns into an obsession like this is not good. Thanks for…
  • Thanks! =)
  • I have heard that before weigh-ins, some fighters will take some type of salt bath that sucks out the water weight and you can drop weight that way for the weigh in. Google it? Good luck. I just did a contest and worked out in the morning before I did my weigh in and dropped a little weight for the scale.
  • You're beautiful! And you are doing so well, such an inspiration!
  • You need to do something different. Your body gets used to things. Change your calorie intake and exercise. Do a more extensive or calorie burning exercise. Change it up. Eat more calories one day and less the next. Hope it helps. You're doing great, though. Plateaus happen a lot in weight loss, so just hang in there.…
  • Just my opinion, but I would try walking. You can walk almost as fast as jogging and you can still get your heart rate up without damaging your knees or shins. I have bad knees and get shin splints the minute I start running. My dad ran for years and realized he could walk almost as fast and it doesn't damage his body like…
  • That's awesome!
  • I am so sorry, I have to disagree with all the people who say just eat it. From my own personal experience, if I am craving something and eat it, I just crave more. Instead of having things that make you feel guilty, you can make a chocolate protein shake or sometimes I will put cocoa powder in the blender with some frozen…
  • It's great that you are so open about it! Diseases like that love to be kept a secret and keep you sick. I have had all the eating disorders and am quite familiar with how difficult they are. They might be one of the toughest things I have ever had to deal with. I am so sorry that you are going through this, but as long as…
  • I am back after quite a while as well, with 20 lbs back that I had worked so hard to get rid of! Would love motivational friends!!
  • I don't think I could do it long term!! That would be too tough, but I like the idea of starting with it! Thanks!!
  • Thanks! I love making my own soup and if I can get rid of a lot of the salt and unnecissary sugar and fat, I'm sure my foods will taste a lot more flavorful!
  • I don't know why people have to be so rude. These are made to be support forums, it's too bad people feel they have to try to insult others. Just be glad it's just weight we are trying to lose, not a bad attitude as well.
  • Thanks! For both being helpful and nice!
  • Thank you! I should have mentioned in my first post that it isn't really a 'diet', it's more of a detox from all the junk we put in our body. People don't neccisarily lose weight (although a lot do), but it flushes the toxins and gives us a good starting point of putting healthy food into us. I am really trying to eat…
  • Thanks everyone for your input!
  • If you go to this website, you just plug in your info and it tells you. http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ Hope this helps:smile:
  • I got myself a HRM (heart rate monitor) and put it on for a day to find out how many calories I actually burned. 1200 calories is just a generic number used. You can also find the formula for calculating your daily number. I will look for the formula and get back to you!
  • Thanks! They look delicious!!
  • All of those things you listed are great ways. For me, logging in my calories eaten and calories burned is the most helpful. If I am not logging, I tend to go way off track, but keeping a running tally seems to be a great way to see exactly what you are eating and how much. It gets to be fun and almost like a game, at…
  • Cut it into the size pieces you would eat and then insert that number. Or you can just play around with the # of servings until you like the calorie count and then cut it into that many pieces.
