Amen brother! The holidaze is on and very stressful with EXPECTATIONS! I am practicing in front of the mirror, "I won't be cooking the holiday meals for everyone this year!" Everything is up in the air because my eldest son who is in the Navy completes his training in Connecticut on 11/27/13 and will most likely be driving…

Hello! Still in this challenge. I am finding it rough as my weight loss is slowing down. Time to kick things up a notch! SW: 329 CW: 308 GW: 289 by January 1st 2014! 19 pounds in 10 weeks. That is 2 pounds per week. I have got to make this happen despite the lovely, food-filled, holidaze! Come on BTL! JUST DO IT!

Hello, Well things are slowing down for me but I am still IN! AW-10/20/13-308 GW-10/27/13-304 GW-11/3/13-300 Even slow progress is better than no progress right? I can tell I have lost inches, even my shoes are fitting better! This time of year I feel so overwhelmed. MFP has been a blessing. I love keeping up with everyone…

I had a bad weekend so I did not make my goal. 10/8/13-310 Still three more weeks left to get under 300 pounds! Yesterday I tried on my "Red Riding Hood" costume and she almost fit! I look like I have been sampling my own goodie basket every day! Ha Ha! I do enjoy my own cooking. :)

Hi Dan, MFP has asked me to recalculate 4 times. I have customized my plan to eat 1200 calories per day although MFP tells me I should eat 1800-1600 per day. When you get smaller, your body needs less calories to stay alive so to lose fat, you need to reduce your caloric intake and /or move your body more. We are slowly…

Welcome back CC! You are such an inspiration for this "Granola" and I am glad you are back. Mark is right, REAL LIFE happens. The road to success is potholed with mistakes so we can get stronger. Love ya baby!

Let's here it for Rocktober-my favorite month of the year! SW: 355 CW:311 GW:299 LTGW:155 10/8/13-308 10/15/13-305 10/22/13-302 10/29/13-299 I am excited about getting into the 200's! I usually dress as a witch or "Madame Sahuna" fortune teller. I will be getting out my costume trunk this weekend. I bought 30 yards of…

I am here, committed to this new lifestyle for loads of reasons: My mother died of colon cancer at age 32 and my dad has type 2 diabetes. I want to wear "normal" size clothing and look good. I want to ride roller coasters, hike in Washington State, fly comfortably on a plane, sit in chairs without worrying if they will…

I have always wanted to try fresh figs.

Great challenge! It has been raining all day for 4 days here in "Sunny" Florida so I have been doing my indoor DVD workout. Here in the deep, tropical south we stay inside during the summer to avoid heatstroke and bugs! I have been to Rhode Island in January and it was scary walking on ice covered pavement, so I know what…

I don't think a bag of jelly tots counts as a cheat day. No need to apologize either. You are doing great! Still, it is good to get back to basics and try to regain the motivation/momentum from the very beginning. I need to do the same. Re-evaluate and re-vamp my effort. Sometimes that means taking a break from the…

All you guys/gals are so inspiring! Great challenge! My challenge is ditto what Mark said. I want to be healthy and fit into a regular roller coaster seat, an airplane seat, go hiking in Washington State with my family, even go through a haunted house without fear of getting stuck in a tight space. I just started 6 weeks…

Super Challenge! Today I zoned out while doing my workout and had to snap back into the "now" before I injured myself. Mindful eating is my goal today. Chewing each bite carefully so my body knows it is being nurtured. Thanks Mark!

My favorite thing to do when I am stressed/exhausted is to pop in one of my all time favorite movies. Light candles and have a good soak. When I get stressed I start cleaning and straightening something. When I get stressed I practice square breathing, inhale 4 seconds, hold 4 seconds, exhale 4 seconds, hold 4 seconds and…

M23prime, Mark, You are never lame! Great challenge. I clipped my last two toes on my right foot hitting the coffee table at 7am on Monday. I felt like crying and throwing up all day. I had to adjust my workout and do a light one in bare feet because shoes were too painful. I was panicky, not knowing how long it would take…

Excellent challenge! I gave up soda a long time ago. My nemesis is coffee and black tea. Like soda, these two liquid crutches rob your body of PH balance as well. Also, I have been accused of enjoying "coffee flavored" cream and sugar. Ha! Ha! I like it sweet, light, and hot! Now I drink green tea, no sweetener and when I…

I just cleaned out my fridge and pantry. I gave all my "holiday" cookie/cake stuff, (4 cloth bags) to my niece so she can bake with her two young daughters. Great Idea! My pantry still has some "no-no" for me foods. I live with my hubby who has never been overweight and my 21 year old son. I can resist the pop tarts, pizza…

Hello. Great challenge! My mantra is "Make it Happen!" I have to do the work. I have to earn my body. I like what Dward said, "It is hard losing weight and it is hard being fat." Let's choose losing weight. Holidays are hard because I love to cook and eat my cooking. My challenge this year is to modify my favorite holiday…

My son has terrible Psoriasis and I have eczema. He applies Cerave lotion to his skin twice per day to keep it under control. He sees a dermatologist for awful flare ups. He drinks no soda, only water and almond milk. We try to eat healthy here but he is 21 and does what he likes. Dairy, stress and hormones are triggers…

Hello! I am posting new goals for September. My kick start has slowed to the realistic "I have to live this way for the rest of my life" mode and Dan is right about 5 pounds per week being aggressive. I can do this one baby step at a time. I am going to weigh on Saturday mornings. SW:355 CW:329 GW 320 end of September.…

Yet another great challenge! My daily goal for the month will be: 45+ minutes of cardio/strength training 15 minutes of stretching Bonus: 15-30 minutes of walking This is my pledge for each day. I will have to start on September 3rd. Yesterday and today I have heavy duty yard work to do. It must be burning calories because…

Great Challenge! Yes, the next few months are what I consider the "DANGER ZONE!" for anyone trying to reduce body fat. Labor Day will be good practice for the continual feasting that starts October31st and doesn't end until February 14th. Thanks M(ark)23prime, you are the best! Grilling meat and veggies is tasty and keeps…

Great challenge idea! Congratulations Dan on hitting 100 pounds lost! :flowerforyou: That is Fantastic news! Today my reward will be sewing on my Halloween wall hanging. I started it two weeks ago and have not been able to get back to it. Sewing balances my Chi. Still got to log, workout, and eat right first.…
