I lost a large chunk (probably 35-40 out of 50 pounds lost) on 5:2. People say it's not sustainable and you don't learn good food habits, but one thing it really taught me was how to handle hunger. I was able to seamlessly transfer off of fast days to a sustainable calorie deficit every day. Do what works best for you!

I don't have any children yet, but I've had the name Rory picked out for a daughter (if I have one) because I love her and really enjoyed watching Gilmore Girls for so many seasons with my mom.

Congrats on the loss, OP! That being said, it is incorrect to tell people they HAVE to eat organic, all natural food to lose weight. Eat less than you burn, of whatever you want. It may not be the healthiest route, but it will result in weight loss. Period.

Perfect! Bump!

I definitely appreciate everyone's input! Sorry if it seems I'm being difficult. I know I don't necessarily need to train this intensely or in this style, but I guess I just really want to. I absolutely love the program I'm following now (which is similar as I said) and it really caused me to fall in love with heavy…

So I've been reading a whole bunch of articles, and although there is always conflicting information, the strength gains I'm seeing are due to "newbie gains" as suggested. From what I've found, it varies from person to person on how long one can expect to see these, but anecdotal accounts suggest around 6 months. I've also…

I've been eating at a deficit for over a year now, but did not see noticeable fat loss until I started strength training about 3-4 months ago. I'm not trying to be a butt, but I genuinely don't understand where you're getting this 13 sets on the same muscle group from. Workout 1 is chest, triceps, and calves and Workout 2…

Also, not sure where you're getting 13 sets per muscle group, as the most I count for any day is 10 sets. I started strength training on New Rules and got bored with it within a month or two.

I am currently following a program that is very similar to Shortcut to Size, with the same splits and everything. I have seen amazing results on this program, in inch loss, strength gains, and fat loss. I have been eating at a deficit for this 12 week program. Shortcut to size adds in a little bit more chest and shoulders,…

Did you end up doing this program? I am hoping to start it soon too!

I'm so in!

This sounds awesome! I'm in! I'd like to be in Ravenclaw, but if that's full, any available is fine with me! *I don't have a whole lot of weight left to lose, only 10-15 pounds and am focusing more on body fat. Will this be a problem?*

I'm in STL and I deadlift

My boyfriend wishes he was 145 lbs. I am 5'6 and currently 154 lbs (started at 196 lbs) and he is 6' 125 lbs (started at 115 lbs). We don't care though, we both love each other and find the other incredibly attractive :D

Graduated on Saturday from C25k! My first 5k race was my very last workout for this program. It was a "fun run" so there wasn't an official time kept, but from the time we started to when we finished, it was less than 35 minutes. I was so excited and couldn't believe how much fun it was (way more fun than training, lol).…

I'm 5'6. Currently 166 lbs. Wanting to get down to about 135 lbs, but this number is fluid. Once I get lower, I'll see how I feel at each 5 lb milestone.
