  • Most above agree and I agree as well. I would add that the “not as I used to’s” lead one to believe there is either a problem with actual serving sizes or omission of items in the log. For me (yes I was guilty) it was both. But my main “omission” was alcohol. My nightly cocktails or beers werent logged. It made a huge…
  • Protein and fiber. Especially fiber. Thats what I have always been told that helps the snack cravings between meals.

  • Dont sweat a small slip. Sometimes it actually works to your advantage. I have been told in the past if you do the same thing day after day time after time week after week year after year, your body will create somewhat of a “memory”. You’re a little slip tricks it up and the body goes oh, what’s this? This may or may not…
  • While its not a fool proof method? Most predators fall into 2 groups. Looking to hook up or AI generated. I require a personal message (a few lines of intent or background) to accept. When I get a FR I send a quick polite note saying so. Maybe this will help someone.
  • I LOVE every one of these answers!! EVERY SINGLE ONE. My only addition is on the proteins for good muscle. A little protein in each meal. Lean meat/Turkey (I love turkey burgers) chicken and fish. Salmon is the best in my world. Following this thread!!
  • @paperpudding feel better? Good!
  • That is HUGE!!!! As a diabetic myself nothing to be sorry for. I'm on Ozempic. (Just started) I just did a whole post on exactly what you are doing. (Home cooked, Farmers Markets etc! Man the naysayers piled on!! But glad to see another user following common sense items and having great success!! Continued blessings!!…
  • I can handle the piling on. Youre correct good discussion and honest debate are a great thing. What works for me doesnt always work for everyone. But I still stand on my points of processed foods and diet sodas. Anyone is welcome to debate it. It just wont change my mind. Ive lost over 60 and my wife has lost 50+ with…
  • Whatever works for you works for you. I didnt endorse the Biggest Loser because it was flawed. I merely said it proved the point that diet and exercise trumps meds and surgery. I stand on that. I know several people personally that did the surgery and it failed miserably because the lifestyle afterwards was not sustainable.
  • I have yet to figure out how to friend request since they changed everything. Once I figure it out Ill send you one 😎
  • All you “need” for a “workout” is a brisk walk that will raise your heartrate. I only did 15 on the elliptical this morning due to time constraints, but every time I moved today I did the “ups” method. Fast walking or jogging to and from my truck. It made a difference. Anything is better than NOTHING! You got this!!
  • Welcome back! Like you I am returning from my hiatus. Just got diagnosed with stage one CHF. I was very successful with MFP in the past losing 100 pounds. But gained 43 of it back in three years. Now I’m back on track and trying to get things together again! One day at a time!
  • I just posted this morning on this very topic. It works for me! I use the kiss method. Look for a post for me called my top three for weight loss. I hope it will help you!

  • It’s so simple it’s right in front of you. It’s all about moderation. I have one or two light beers a night and only a shot or two on the weekends. And yes! I log them. I’m not seeing any issues with weight loss. But that’s because my calorie deficit is always in check at the end of the day.
  • LOVE ALL THE ABOVE IDEAS!!! I do a simple 2egg omelette with deli turkey and colby jack. Sometimes its just oats and scrambled eggs. Other times I look at leftovers usually turkey sausage, peppers and onions frorm the night before and add to my 2 eggs. Leftover omelette is my favorite! Omelettes are easy and filling!
  • Soooo Proud of you for negotiating and sticking to it!! I have 3 mos as well on my deal!!
  • My Dr prescribed what she wanted and I manually entered. Always best prictice to discuss as your doctor knows ur meds etc. But its also good to have a dr whos on tye same page and not a pill seller! Mine went thru an interview process! Totally trust her today
  • On IOS app its at tue bottom of the daily log with exercise. Hope this helps!

  • START SLOW!!!! Let your body dictate what is good. Your mind will tell you otherwise. Tell the mind to pound sand. Don't let others shame you. I started back after a long hiatus with a simple 30 min trip on my elliptical. it was very slow and I only burned 106 Cals. But it added to a calorie deficit which is my ultimate…
  • For Me: I will not eat my exercise calories. I exercise to create a deficit needed to lose weight. Thats how weight loss is achieved. I need to lose it for my health (I suffer currently with CHF and Diabetes) Again: for me.. its all on you to follow your path. Good Luck!
  • I have a simple list of 3 items I focus on. It works for me. 1) Portion control: Weighing and logging is a major pain. But living with obesity and Congestive heart failure is too. A simple trick on this one besides weighing and logging is to Drink a tall glass of water before eating. It will fill you and keep you from…
  • Baked Wings every Sunday. A good diabetic food. Notice the measured sauce and brush. Thats for portion control (and sugar)
  • Sustainability is the key so youre on the right track! Im back after gaining 40 of my 100 lost so I relate. Friend me if you like and we can share notes on how we achieve!
