I like to take a warm shower, read a book or experiment with hair/makeup/outfits! These really help clear my mind and get me back on track. Also, I've found putting a sign up on the door of my pantry has made a huge difference. It can just be something stupid like "Do you need this?" or "How you eat affects your…

Hi everyone! I'm 5'4, weighed in at 126 this morning (finally lost 4 pounds this week after months of plateauing!) and would like to get to 115.... maybe 120 depending on how I look and feel at that weight. Feel free to add me, I'm on here everyday. Good luck to all!

Warm tea! Comes in so many different flavors that you'll never get bored, and you can always find one for what type of mood you're in (lemon ginger? peppermint? apple cider? etc). It took me a few tries before I fell in love, but now I have at least one cup of hot tea every day. The hand-to-mouth action is satisfied, and…

Good for you to choose recovery! I had anorexia in the past and chose to recover on my own. But if I could go back and change one thing, I'd definitely have a team of experts working with me on what to eat, how much, exercise, etc. Though you feel like you're powerful and in-control right now, you will have slip ups and…

You're fine so long as your blood cholesterol levels remain low. The nutrition community has found that eating high amounts of cholesterol-laden foods MAY have an impact on blood cholesterol levels in some individuals. However, most of the population experiences no change in blood cholesterol due to diet.

I totally feel this. I get in ruts where all I can do is eat until I feel sick, then eat some more because I feel so terrible. You have to remind yourself that food does not have any control over you. YOU have every bit of control over food. I know this is hard to believe when you're in a binge cycle, trust me I've been…

I love full fat Greek yogurt or full fat cream top yogurt. I eat the plain variety.. It is good alone or mixed with peanut butter! High in protein, fat and calories. Might be a nice option if you get sick of too many carbs or sugary treats :) Good luck!

I really like Budget Bytes blog. She has sections for vegetarian and vegan recipes. http://www.budgetbytes.com/category/recipes/vegetarian/

Thanksgiving isn't a huge deal in my family. I'll have my regular omelet breakfast, regular snacks of fruits, nuts, and veggies, and for our late Thanksgiving lunch: Turkey (white and dark meat!) Stuffing Baked sweet potato Broccoli Cranberry salad Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream I have never like mashed potatoes and gravy,…

Lentils and corn. I can't digest either of them at all. Edited to add: Peanuts, too!

Menstruation has more to do with body fat percentage than body weight. You mention you still work out. Are you overdoing it? Do you still have an extremely low body fat percentage? Talk to your doc, especially if you're trying to start a family.

I crave them after a few high salt days like when I've been eating out a lot.. must be that potassium! And I like COLD bananas that are refrigerated more than room temp. I usually have 1/2 banana a day, sometimes none. Keep the other half in the fridge and it works just fine :)

I always leave room in my calorie budget for a small handful of almonds before bed. In the past, I'd always snack on sweets/carbs before bed and I'd never feel satisfied and go way overboard. I like almonds but don't LOVE them, so my hunger is curbed after a few and I feel really satisfied from the protein, fat, and fiber.…

How is everyone doing? I'm finally back on track with my eating, and I've been lifting/body weight exercises a lot more. Still not doing any cardio really, but I guess eating at a calorie deficient and lifting is enough for now. I feel like I have to eat A LOT to have energy for cardio... then I'm not at a deficient and…

Panera Bread does, too!

I really like Biz's blog from mybizzykitchen.com. She is more inspirational to me than any thinspiration instagram because she is so REAL. She works a full time job, has a grown daughter and step kids, makes time to exercise in her busy life, and always keeps a realistic outlook. She always eats really well instead of the…

Thanks for that BH! Honestly I've been feeling a bit down on myself after looking at that thread and those instagram accounts. It has encouraged me to stay below my calorie limit, but at the same time I've been harsh on myself because I do not and will not ever look like that. But like you said, it's okay! I'd rather have…

Think of all the positive things you're doing for your body by losing 45 lbs! Sometimes you have to look beyond the weight. You are putting less strain on your heart, and you've proved to yourself that you CAN lose weight! Keep it up girlfriend!

Burgers! Great balance of protein, fat, and carbs.

Awesome, BranFran! Glad to hear about your schedule change. I also have been gaining and losing the same 3 pounds.. so frustrating! I hope you break the 3 pound trap now that you have a normal schedule again.

Bumping this thread in hopes of hearing some inspiring updates! I'm slowly but surely getting back on track thanks to some wise words from BH and a few other wise Hams here. BH, your advice on making habit of a healthy lifestyle really put it into perspective for me. Just like brushing your teeth, you make it a routine. It…

Ironic, yes, but not at all surprising, Spartsy88. A good majority of RDs and Nutritionists have had or currently maintain eating disorders. Very sad, and I wish you all the best! Lavender_Moon, I too suggest you see a professional or team of professionals as others have mentioned. Eating disorders are more mental than…

I like the leash idea, mk! I miss having my dogs around.. they were always good motivation to get up and get moving. I got back on track yesterday (halloween of all days!) after a week in the pits. The scale has gone WAY up, I'm hoping that'll go back down in the next few days. I'm no longer PMSing, exams are over, I got…

That's great news, mk! And bh, thanks for the cold weather running tips. I would LOVE to be able to give running tips in the future..Guess that means I need to get outside and get running! I've been really hard on myself for a variety of things this week.. school work, relationship troubles, my body. I've been totally…

Oh, and the best part with soups, stews, and chili, you can make BIG batches, freeze in individual containers, then defrost one at a time. You can measure your serving sizes before freezing and it makes tracking calories/portions super easy. Microwave or heat up in a pan before work, fill your thermos, and you're good to…

I LOVE my thermos! They make really nice ones now. I'm eating homemade, warm chili on my lunch break right now :) Tastes so good! I also like to pack beef stew, tortilla soup, white chicken chili, anything with lots of veggies and protein. Stays nice and warm until lunchtime and doesn't leak.

Doctors are usually not trained in nutrition; their advice to "just take an iron tablet" isn't the best option. Most of the iron in tablets does not get absorbed.. the most well-absorbed iron comes from eating red meat and, to a lesser degree, iron-fortified grains such as cereals and bread. I have terrible periods and…

Go girl!! You look AWESOME! And I bet you feel even better!

Hey kk! Glad you friended me. I figured we were similar height, I'm just about 5'4. I saw 127.6 on the scale this morning which made me SO happy! I've been 127 for only one day in the past few months, and this was on September 17th. Then I had some emotional bingeing issues, and a few too many dinners out which put me back…

Thanks for the tips kk, and good luck on the running goals! How tall are you? We have pretty similar weight goals. I fluctuate between 130-135 but would like to be around 115-120 ideally. I'd be fine with 130 if I had muscle, but that is definitely not the case. I'm a total weakling. I actually just bought cold weather…
