  • Crumpets. They aren't the best crumpets but they are pretty good and the only place I can find them. I do not like the cinnamon ones though.
  • I've always heard brown rice doubles and white rice triples. So your 1/4 cup of white rice should end up around 3/4 cups cooked. That is not exact by any stretch of the imagination. If your family uses the same rice all the time and I'd just cook a small batch and weight it dry and then weigh it again cooked and then you…
  • I made my first nutri ninja smoothie this morning. I didn't have much on hand to make it with so it was just chocolate protein powder, almond milk, pb2, a couple ice cubes and half a banana. Came out pretty good, I'm going to pick up some fruit, greens, and greek yogurt to start experimenting with tomorrow morning.
  • I've got a nutri ninja pro coming if USPS ever decides to deliver it. I hate when Amazon ships via USPS for a 2 day Prime order. Hoping it comes today like it is supposed to so I can make a breakfast smoothie tomorrow. I've got some PB2 that I'm finally going to try too. I love peanut butter so i'm interested in seeing how…
  • Starting tonight
  • My favorite is Smuckers Natural. I stir it up once and then put it in the refrigerator upside down and don't have to stir it again. The problem is I like it too much and it is hard to resist lol. I also like Skippy Natural No Stir Super Chunk.
  • I've had the Biggest Loser kitchen scale for about 6 years now. I've replaced the battery twice and it's still working great. You can find it for $20 or less. It's $15.61 on Amazon now. http://www.amazon.com/Taylor-3831BL-Biggest-Kitchen-Platform/dp/B001DQOEIE
  • I think Planet Fitness is great for what it is. For $10 per month I get 24 hour access during the week and decent hours during the weekend. I was a member at Gold's for a long time and I do like Gold's better but it was hard to get there with my schedule. I miss having spin classes but I definitely get my $10 worth per…
  • This is 100% true. The instructor can make the class great or awful.
  • There was a point where I was taking spin 5 times a week. Not necessary lol.. I enjoyed it though. Take it easy the first day. Definitely get a workout in but don't feel like you have to keep up with the instructor or the other people in the class. Many of them do it multiple times per week. There are always new people in…
  • Grilled Chicken and Smaller Sirloin steaks are both good options that are usually available at most restaurants like that. Just skip the toppings like cheese if it doesn't fit in your goals.
  • I started by just walking 30-45 minutes per day. I saw great results with that combined with calorie reductions. I have since added other workouts but walking is a great start. Other than MPF, the best tool I have and recommend is a food scale. You will see people over and over sayign to get one on here if you don't have…
  • Chopped up with miracle whip and black pepper. Cold.
  • Condiments are fine. Cut back a little on mayo and other high calorie condiments if needed to fit your goals. Hot sauce is low calorie and works well on a lot of things if you like it. Franks and Texas Pete are both 0 calories per serving. I'm sure they have a few calories in them but not many. Salsa can be used as a…
  • It's probably one of my favorite foods. I put it on all sorts of stuff or straight out of the jar. Smucker's natural chunky is my favorite. Stir it up really well and then keep it in the refrigerator upside down. Doesn't have to be stirred again after that.
  • The calories the app gives you are based on a formula. Your height, age, and weight are used along with your activity level. Since your height, weight, and age are all different it makes sense that your calorie goals will be different to achieve the same results. I'd still make sure your weight loss goals are the same (1…
  • Nevermind. I tried starring it and when I did it showed up in my drive. Works for me.
  • I was able to add myself into the spreadsheet. Is there anyway I can add this to my drive just to make access easier? I guess I can just bookmark it but it would be nice if it showed up on my google drive.
  • Take a look at bikeforums.net. You might find some helpful information there too. http://www.bikeforums.net/forumdisplay.php/248-Clydesdales-Athenas-(200-lb-91-kg)
  • Make sure you get your feet firmly strapped into the cages. You don't want your feet to slip off. You will probably see that a lot of people in the class will have bike shoes that let them clip onto the pedals instead of using the cage and strap. I invested in shoes about a month after starting to spin. There will be a…
  • I haven't heard anything about Body Revolution. The orignal Power 90/P90 (prior to P90X) is also a good program to look into. It's not as intense but is a good workout. It's a little dated I will admit that as far as the overall feel of it but I enjoyed it. I'm starting the Spartacus DVD's tonight. For $28 I thought it was…
  • A stationary bike sounds like it could be a pretty good option. You might want to start with a recumbent bike first.
  • The as packaged column is just what is in the box. The as prepared column typically includes milk and butter but unless it states it on the label I wouldn't assume that it is based on nonfat milk and light margarine. I'd input the "as packaged" category into your food diary and then just add the milk and margarine…
  • I am just starting the program again. I do week 2 day 2 tonight. I've tried it in the past but got bored with the podcasts. I finally downloaded the app for my iphone and that has made a huge difference for me. Being able to use my own music but still get prompts for when to walk and run is great. It also keeps a log so I…
  • I use iPTrainer to log strength training. I am also using the C25K app.

  • They aren't the best choice but you can definitely lose weight using them. A lot of them are very high in sodium if that matters to you. I have an occasional one for lunch but that is about it.
  • Also, if you really want a real candy bar the 3 Musketeers Truffle Crisp are really good. 170 calories for the entire pack and about the size of 2 twix bars. I have one every now and then as a treat. http://www.3musketeers.com/nutrition_truffle.shtml
  • I just bought my first jar of Nutella a few weeks ago. It tastes very similar to the Ferrero Rocher chocolates (same company makes both products). Actually, I wonder if that chocolate filling in there is Nutella. I like to spread half a serving (100 calories) on a whole grain waffle (75 calories). So its about 175 calories…
  • The best advice I was given before I started running was to visit a real running store and get a new pair of shoes. Only use these shoes for running. They will watch you walk, jog, run, etc on a treadmill. You will most likely do this barefoot. The place I go video tapes it and then plays it for you. They are able to…
