Hey Guys and Gals!
I am making Tuna Helper with Smart Light margarine and nonfat milk...so...question is does tuna helper put this in their nutrition facts as prepared or do they use regular milk and butter?

I am guessing the nutritional info is for just what comes in the bag. Any other stuff you add like margarine and milk would be counted separately...0

The as packaged column is just what is in the box. The as prepared column typically includes milk and butter but unless it states it on the label I wouldn't assume that it is based on nonfat milk and light margarine.
I'd input the "as packaged" category into your food diary and then just add the milk and margarine separately.0 -
thanks for the advice I did and it is so much better! Now I can get TWO cups of tuna helper for 350 calories with only 10 grams of fat!0

Good thinking! I usually cook with almond milk and it's much lower cals than even nonfat milk and I find no taste difference. And for recipes like that I cut back a bit on butter/oil etc. compared to what's on directions and can't tell either.... if you ever need to cut the calories even more :-)0
