I know exactly how you feel, the thought of going to a new gym really stresses me out but I realised once I forced myself through the door that no one was even looking at me to judge me! Luckily have showers also so won't stink but yeah, the red face is something I suffer from! Thanks for your comment, it made me smile and realise I a won't be alone in arriving early to feel human again :)

I also just want a less stress, more fresh-air, way to commute. Do you run in the mornings? I normally run before work but thinking so much exercise prior to coffee might be a little ambitious!

I went vegan at a similar age (14 yrs ago). My meat eating mother would make a curry for all with a small pan without the meat for me or spag bol with soya mince (pretending it was meat to the rest of family who didn't notice). Pick a time of day to weigh yourself and stick to it! I can easily weigh a 5lbs more in the evening compared to morning. It is quite demotivating checking the scales daily, stick with it though and focus on the positive (i.e. more energy, being active etc.)

What are you using to count how many calories lost in the evening through exercise? 1000 calories an evening seems like a lot to me. I weigh a similar amount, run 5K on a treadmill in ~35 min and don't burn anywhere near that many calories. Although, I could have it all wrong!

To add to the above posts, as a vegan I have no problem getting calories in. Tesco have some vegan frozen things in their vegetarian range. I don't know what they taste like or what the calories on them are like but they are labelled and easy to cook. I generally use a lot of tofu and beans in my meals.

Thanks! Didn't realise hotel gyms might have weights (never been in one to be honest - I know that's bad!) Unfortunately will be sat down in conference room for most of that time :/

If I drink black tea first thing in the morning without eating I will throw up - guaranteed. No idea why - I can drink black coffee fine and tea with soya milk without eating first.

When I was in recovery from back injury I used an exercise ball as a chair. It did take a little getting used to and ached a bit at first but then it didn't ache as much as sitting wrong on a chair all day!
