I didn't know about this surgery so I went and read here... https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/treatment-tests-and-therapies/bpdds-weightloss-surgery One of the statements that I read was this... It reduces the amount of fat that your body will absorb. I guess my question would be...If you have had surgery that reduces…

Just wait until it gives you the entry that 1 tsp of garlic has about 12,000+ calories!

Let me rephrase this...chances are a good portion of that 10lbs was water weight. If he cut back on carbs and/or sodium it will cause him to drop weight. It might not be fat but that water loss will show as a loss on the scale. I truly doubt that he lost 10lbs of fat...

On the web version I can add from everywhere except "My Meals". I no longer post to my diary on a daily basis except when I need to spot check macro/micros. I just use a handwritten food log. I do still use the recipe builder to figure out the calories in a new recipe.

It is not unusual for someone to lose a lot of weight their first week on a diet especially if most of his cuts came in the form of carbs. I carry a lot of water weight so if I come back after a break in dieting I will usually lose a lot. By the second week it slows down...by the third week I am losing what I set out to…

In her OP she did mention staying within a calorie target.

LOL You too enjoy your day however you choose to spend it!

Something sounds weirdly strange about that...but okay. You have this habit of posting annoying messages that get under people's skin. I think you can't help yourself. Your enthusiasm can be a little over-bearing at times. You once annoyed me...tremendously. It took me a while to realize that the problem was not with you…

If you have taken any of my posts to mean that I am more superior, more morally virtuous or you have interpreted my words to mean that I think everyone else(if you don't do things my way) are slobs then I apologize. I certainly don't think those things nor meant to imply them. I will go back and read my postings and if…

Round 88 Loss - 4.0lbs SW 09/09 204.0 GW 09/19 202.0 This round might be tough. I am on my own for the next couple of weeks. In the past I have gone out and bought a big bag of “junk” and perched on the couch reading books and watching TV. This time...I already have several meals pre-cooked and fruit in the house. I also…

Sometimes people do things not because they have to or to even cultivate a discipline...they just do it because they want to see if they can. I once built a bed...I am not a furniture builder nor did I want to be...I just wanted to see if I could. It turned out pretty good...I was quite proud of myself.

I don't know why he wanted to do it...it isn't any of my business nor my concern. All that I do know is that felt a certain amount of pride in accomplishing a 24 hour fast. If that gave him a certain amount of pride then I am certainly not going to deprive him of that. I don't think that what he did was dangerous so why…

Maybe he just wanted to see if he could do it??? I doubt if it had anything to do with him trying to control overeating. If I remember correctly he is in his 60's. Something about aging makes you want to see if you can accomplish certain things. I have read that he has worked hard on getting and staying fit. I know that me…

Some people just like to disagree if it is something that is different than what they do...or they tried it and it didn't work for them. Then again...maybe they just don't like you!

Okay I will try to keep this short... 1. Research...there are a few studies(legit) out there but nothing that I found written in sand. Mostly you will find articles written by people that don't know much more than I do. Don't buy in to the "mystery/fantasy/supernatural". 2. Spend some time on deciding is this will fit your…

I think that some of you are not realizing that many people do better using rules and/or guidelines. It takes the decision making out of their hands. When it comes to food most of us have proven that we don't make very good decisions when it comes to food. Some of you do and I can appreciate that but I haven't. The…

There is no harm in trying. If it works...then great. If it doesn't then you haven't failed...it just didn't work so try something else. It is about you and not anyone else. Don't feel as if you can't adjust some of those rules that some unknown person says that you have to follow. Our WOE including the scheduling of when…

This I agree with 100%.

I agree with the majority of you words except for the bolded. I think people have to use some common sense when it comes to the TRE hours. Ex: My window Is 11am to 7pm. I rarely eat outside of those hours. What I found was that there were several days that I didn't even come close to eating my calorie goal. After dinner I…

I am 67 and I don't have any problems losing weight...as long as I keep my head in the game and follow the plan that I have laid out for myself. I don't think that it is any more of a struggle than anyone has at any age. I think the hardest thing that we might face is that our bodies don't always cooperate with us when it…
