  • I can personally understand exactly how you are feeling. I am 2 weeks out from my ultrasound where I was told that my child has a very serious heart defect - most likely HLHS (Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome). This is 100% fatal if not immediately treated with open heart surgery. Actually, the baby will need a series of 3…
  • We are leaving it for a surprise too! We already have one of each so we are excited to wait until delivery this time!
  • I found it at Sears - it was a Kim Kardashian Knit dress - size small not 1x lol!. The fit was perfect and had enough room for a few more pounds in the belly area! I just pulled out the maternity stuff this week though for everyday clothes. My jeans still button but they aren't the most comfortable as the day wears on.
  • I am 15 1/2 weeks and I had a doctors appointment this morning. I love hearing the heartbeat and we heard lots of little wiggles this time! My doctor said I should be feeling them soon. :) My next appointment is my mid-way ultrasound. We are not finding out the sex this time though. We have NO CLUE about names. I gained a…
  • I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot even imagine the pain you must feel having to experience this.
  • Thanks for the options. I actually did find something I really like and it is knit. It fits me perfectly with a little extra room through the belly and hips. I was just really pissed. I was already feeling like crap and she went and made me feel worse!
  • I didn't really have many aversions this time, but I did with my 1st pregnancy. I ate my normal amount of calories this time, though more carbs than usual. I started getting really hungry in week 12. Upping my calories by 200 (changed to gain 1/2lb in my settings) helped a lot with that. I find some days I am starving and…
  • I agree with stephysd. It also depends on how you have your activity level set up. If you have your activity level set to sedentary than I would suggest eating back your exercise calories. If you have already factored activity into your maintenance calories, then no you would not eat them back. I am 13 weeks now and I have…
  • I have a baby shower this weekend for a friend and trying on dresses is what made me notice my bump. It is definitely more noticeable in the dresses!
  • I am 5'2" and 125lbs. So maybe being petite does have something to do with it. I have a tiny torso. I always get HUGE at the end. lol
  • I don't see anything wrong with staying home and doing what you want for the day. I always stay home on Thanksgiving and spend the day with my husband and children. I make a small meal. My family is always welcome here and sometimes they do come. Most other times everyone enjoys it with their immediate families. My family…
  • If she was really this concerned, handing out jump ropes with a cute little poem attached about exercising to burn off some of the extra candy energy would be much more effective. My kids would be thrilled to receive something like this and it gets the kids moving without offending anyone. Some people just don't think…
  • I am currently pregnant with #3. I had 5lbs to get to my goal weight when I found out I was pregnant. Surprise! lol 9lbs isn't a ton. I wouldn't delay it just to lost that little amount. Just make sure to gain a reasonable amount during pregnancy. I personally think it is way easier to lose weight when breastfeeding. The…
  • During my 1st pregnancy, I gained 60lbs. I was really sick in the beginning and the only thing that made me feel better was eating lots of carbs very frequently. This caused me to gain a lot in the beginning. Toward the end I was swollen, huge, and felt horrible. My daughter was 9lbs 13oz and I needed a csection after 34…
  • With my 1st and 2nd pregnancies, I was wearing maternity clothes right around the 10-12 week mark. This is my 3rd an I am 13 weeks and still have some time, I think. But I am definitely starting to show now.
  • Wine! I really, really miss wine!
  • 5'2" Starting weight 125 Weight at 12 week appointment 126 Weight today at 13 weeks 125 0 weight gain in my first trimester - changed my MFP settings to gain 1/2 lb a week ago and actually lost a pound
  • Apparently my body really did need those extra calories. I have been more of my active self lately since the first trimester exhaustion and sickness has passed. I have been eating a lot more and I have lost that 1 lb I have gained. So at 13 weeks, I have gained nothing so far. I am going to try to continue to make healthy…
  • This is also my 3rd child. I am due May 5th and I am just now feeling so much better. The exhaustion was harder for me this time around because I am older and already have 2 children to take care of, Being tired really affects your mood. Hang in there. I am sure your mood will improve once you get into your 2nd trimester,…
  • Google "Switch Witch". This is what we do in our house. The kids can pick out some candy to keep and the rest is left for the Switch Witch to take. She trades it for an item that they have desired. We can all enjoy a little of the treats from the holiday but it isn't constantly around to overindulge.
  • 5"2" Currently 126 (and 3 months pregnant - gained 1 lb so far) Ideally around 115 (not pregnant) Size 4 Pants (Carry all of my weight here) XS shirt and even sometimes these are too big.
  • I personally do not attend baby showers unless it is the first child. I know several people who registered and threw their own showers for 3rd and 4th kids. I do not attend. I usually purchase a gift when the baby is born for the new baby and his/her siblings. This is my 3rd child and whatever I don't have I will purchase…
  • Carbs, carbs, more carbs! I used to eat less than 100 gms of carbs a day. Now it seems like it is all I want!
  • Thanks for responding. I plan on working out as long as I can - I run, do Spin class, and Body Pump still. I have a gym membership that I will maintain before and after. This is my 3rd child. I gained 60lbs with the 1st, 24 with the 2nd, but this one was a surprise and I had just gotten back into a size 2 before finding…
  • I would like the idea of a family name -Problem is - my family is so stinkin big that all of the good ones have already been used. This baby will be the 27th great grandchild for my grandparents. I prefer a name that isn't quite traditional but isn't so weird that people can't pronounce or figure it out. My daughter is…
  • Boy! My youngest is a boy so the nursery is decorated that way and I still have all his clothes. I don't have any of my girl stuff left, Plus, from my experience thus far, boys are way easier! But, I am not finding out the gender this time. I am looking forward to the surprise at delivery. I would be very happy with a girl…
  • I changed my goals to gain 1/2 lb a week and it gave me 200 additional calories a day for a total of 1800. My doctor suggested that I gain 1/2 - 1lb a week so I wlll try this out for awhile!
  • Thanks. I am going to add in 200 and try not to feel guilty! This is my 3rd pregnancy and was complete surprise! We thought we were done after 2. So I am struggling a little this time with knowing I have to gain 25-35 lbs!
  • I have it set to maintenance now (about 1600) but I have been so hungry this week, I have been eating a couple hundred more - usually ending up around 1800 and I was eating about 1200-1400 daily before I found out I was pregnant. So maybe I am just at the point where I need to add in that extra 200.
  • Thank you! This seems about right. It gave me 1588 for maintenance, 1788 for 2nd trimester, and 1988 for the 3rd. I set it to sedentary so I can just eat back some of my exercise calories.
