OP here, coming back out of the shadows. I was trying to point out to myself the value of moderation. I have no intention of giving up pizza, cake, beer, or alcohol. But I'm also not happy eating -only- those things. I've been in one of those free-for-all cycles--last supper eating and all. I need to get back to…

For me, it's just settling into a new "normal."

48g (1/2 cup) rolled oats (I use Bob's Red Mill extra thick rolled oats), 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1 scoop (32g of mine) protein powder (current favorite is PE Science Select Protein in peanut butter cookie--it is amazing!). Mix well, let sit overnight in fridge. In the morning, stir, eat. 330 calories, lasts…

Overnight oatmeal with almond milk and a scoop of tasty protein powder has become my new favorite breakfast. The combination staves off hunger for me until lunch. Previously I'd eat one or the other and be starving within an hour or two.

Up at 6am. 6am to 6:30 is staring at phone time--in winter next to a light therapy light, summer in the sunroom. 6:30-7:30 is some kind of exercise--treadmill, walking outside, or a Beachbody video. 7:30 I start getting ready for work. At work by 9, get coffee and have breakfast. Weekends I putter around the house while my…

You've lost 9 pounds since you started. That is already phenomenal. You really are going to have to lower your expectations. 2 pounds a week is what you should be expecting. This isn't a sprint; it's a marathon. Calm down. Your weight WILL go up on some days, but that doesn't mean you should give up. Stick with it, trust…

I lost weight fine on propranolol. But one caveat-if you use a fitness tracker, don't get one with a HR monitor, as the numbers will be wildly off.

I've had PF for almost a year, but it's finally going away now. And what worked is a combination of what others have said: losing almost 30 pounds, using a boot at night, using insoles (the cheap ones off Amazon). Now my foot is a little sore in the morning, but nothing like what it has been.

I like the stuffed flounder. And mahi burgers. And chili lime chicken burgers. And the 21 spice salute!

Costco sells packs of 90 calorie bags of beef jerky.

Sauteed chicken with sweet potato noodles and spicy peanut sauce.

Stir fried vegetables and noodles with flank steak.

I eat 2-4 squares of quality 78% dark chocolate every single day.

If it's still early, I wouldn't worry about it--the initial water whoosh doesn't always happen. And 1lb a week is a fantastic rate!
-
Another big problem with beta blockers is you can't trust a Fitbit HR to give you anything near accurate calorie burn. Don't bother with an HR one.

I take propranolol as well and have lost 30 pounds in the last year while on it. I didn't gain anything on them. The main effect it has--related to potential weight loss--for me is it's impossible to get heart rate up much during cardio.

I've just started P90x3, but I really enjoyed Autumn's 21 Day Fix, so I will have to look into this one next!

Spicy Peanut Sauce 1/2 cup natural-style creamy peanut butter 1/3 cup water 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce 2 tablespoons lime juice (from about 1 1/2 medium limes) 4 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 2 1/4 teaspoons chile-garlic paste 1 medium garlic clove, mashed to a paste 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil…

When I first started here, I just tracked my food, without trying to restrict. But seeing what some of the calorie costs for food I was eating made it easy to drop those foods really quickly, especially when it's just mindless snacking.

I'm 5'8" and I started here a year ago at 220, mostly to improve my health--specifically some digestive issues as well as cholesterol, HBP, etc. A year later, I'm at 190 and still here, and feeling much, MUCH better. You can do it, just stick with it!

It factors it in.

Do an unassisted pullup!

I changed my intake to maintenance a week or so ago, once I was realized I was doing maintenance+ anyway. Up 3-4 pounds, but I'm not worried. It's strange, because I've let myself go a little wild, and there's this disciplined MFP'er inside who sort of dispassionately watches me eat those cookies that aren't even very good…

It looks like with the icon change, it means the former more clearly than before. I eat raw food, but also cooked. I like variety.

I use Pepperplate for my recipes, though they end up getting sort of duplicated in MFP. I use Fitbit, Runkeeper, Libra, C25k. I use a simple memo calendar (that's literally the name) to keep track of workouts. I have Walk to Mordor for fun.

There are TONS of posts about keto. Do a search and you'll find plenty. There's even one just a few below this one.

I sat and read through this whole thread last night. It's everything I ever wanted from MFP. Here's my contribution from tonight. First time trying to post a pic, hope it works. Zoodles, broccoli slaw, cabbage, a few frozen noodles, chicken, and spicy peanut sauce. Huge plate for 426 calories. I hope I'm not accidentally…

Being able to paint my toenails without holding my breath. Getting up from sitting on the floor like it's no big deal. Before, it was quite the effort. Now I'm just like, up and done, boom.

So neat to see this thread bumped--probably one of my earlier comments here. And hey, down 30 of 50, so here's to 20 more in 2018! (And those pants still don't fit, because now they're too big!)
