  • FMLA can be taken on an intermittent basis as well as an extended period of time. I currently have intermittent FMLA because I have Menieres disease. It is a federal law that you must follow as an employer. There doctor has to sign off on this so if they are having panic attacks then assume that they are having panic…

  • I am 5'11' and Victorias secret is the only place I can find pants that fit and aren't baggy in weird places. You have to order them online but if they don't fit, they are really easy to return. Good luck!
  • Just stay away from processed foods....making your own food from scratch is a good way to do this. No white flour, sugar, etc. in those homemade recipes I'm hoping. :) I am in the same boat as you and I just keep plugging along and lifting heavier weights. Also, lifting heavier weights will help you build muscle and lose…
  • Eat clean, lift heavy weights. read New rules of lifting for women, and eat more. Do these things and you will lose body fat.
  • If it is always over 100bpm then that is not normal. Normal would be 60 to 100 and not over 100. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/heart-rate/AN01906 I would suggest going to a different doctor.
  • I have been through the same thing with the weight gain and it sucks. Once I started counted calories and was consistent about it, then I started to lose. I'm glad the dietician has you eating more. I lost more by eating more then I did before when I was restricting too much. I also lost more body fat when I weaned out…
  • What are your goals exactly? Are you still trying to lose? Trying to build muscle? I am 3 inches shorter then you and I eat up to 2500 cals on some days, but I am also in maintenance. In my experience, I had severe hunger problems when I was restricting calories and it made me miserable. Everybody is different and can…
  • I'm not an expert ,but processed foods tend to make you hungry. Try eating some plain oats in the morning with almond milk, fruit and some pb. You can also have eggs as well. I believe the egg beaters are processed also, so try making your own if you can. I pretty much eat the same thing everyday and my breakast usually…
  • Eat whatever time you want as long as you stay within your calorie range. The not eating after certain time is a myth.....people usually do this to prevent adding more calories by eating later at night. I eat whatever time I want and I make sure I am within my calorie range. This has not hindered my weight loss whatsoever.
  • This thing is awesome. My cousin runs marathons and stores all her crap in this thing. I have one also!
  • You should do some research on larabars. They usually consist of only a couple of ingredients.....fruit and nuts. Not processed whatsoever and nothing wrong with it.
  • One of my friends suggested this actually. This may be what I have to do in order to find shorts that will fit that I like. Thanks!
  • Glad I'm not the only one! I have a problem with jeans also, but thats a whole other tall girl issue. haha. It annoys me because I want to wear shorts!
  • This is what happens when you're not eating enough food and getting enough nutrients. Not good! You need to be feeding your body, especially if you are working out.
  • Put something on your scale at home that you know is the correct weight. A dumbbell, a bag of unopened dog food, etc. The scale at my gym is always more then what mine says. Scales at the gym are used hundreds of times and often can be off because they are broken and not calibrated.
  • Also, if your workouts are fairly intense I would recommend eating beforehand. I didn't used to eat before my workouts and did that for a while. I found myself exhausted the rest of the day and starving. At least eat some yogurt and fruit and get something in your stomach. I have never been nauseaus or had side stitches…
  • How long until you felt GOOD about getting up to workout? (when did it become a habit?) -It didn't take me long to get used to. I was making excuses in the afternoon so I needed to get it done in the morning and get it over with. I changed one single thing. I went to bed earlier so I could get up earlier. I am not a…
  • It is not a diet, it is a way of eating. The basics are to not eat anything processed. I eat processed foods occasionally but I try to keep it to a minimum. There is some excellent info on graciouspantry.com and she has tons of recipes. Yes, it will make you feel better and your body will look better as you lose weight and…
  • Also, pretty much all of MFP friends do the same thing and they lose weight. :)
  • I'm not sure why it shouldn't count, even with an HRM. Even during a cardio session you are only using your legs (treadmill, stepmill, elliptical) so I'm not sure how not using the whole body scenario pans out. I do a full body workout, so I may be doing a lunge with a shoulder press at the same time. This gets my HR up…
  • By itself, I don't like it. I use it in oatmeal and protein shakes and can't tell a difference.
  • I have been overweight and underweight. I got all the same comments when I was underweight but never any comments about my weight when I was overweight. The comments damaged my self esteem and I hated my body....I still struggle with this. You are taking control and becoming healthy and thats a good thing. Good luck!
  • I don't track my sugars because of this. Pretty much all of my sugar comes from fruits and veggies. I suggest that if you're worrying then stop tracking it.
  • I'm not sure why you don't believe other people when they say they feel gross. Try eating "clean foods" for a month and then eating greasy fatty fast food and see how you feel. I literally feel like I'm going to puke if I eat like this. If you have fast food and soda in your diet on a regular basis then, no it is not going…
  • There are tons and tons of options here! First check out graciouspantry.com. She has lots of recipes and they aren't all chicken and veggies. Fish, pork, lean beef, lean turkey are all options. You can make tacos, burgers, soups, etc. Good luck!
  • Sorry, but I must disagree. I have been lifting for about 7 years and study constantly on form with my trainer and my own outside studying. If you want more info on squats, please go to stumptuous.com or any other reputable website. Squats will not hurt your back or your knees. I understand why everyone assumes this, but…
  • Ummmm thanks I guess. haha. This is why I reevaluated, I wasn't getting into a full squat position. A squat should be like squatting down to pick up something, not just sitting in a chair.

  • How much do you lift for your biceps? I don't usually isolate this group, but I used to do 20lb dumbbells for 8reps/3 sets. How much do you lift for your triceps? Again, I don't isolate usually but sometimes I do triceps on the cables and I set that at 40 pounds. If I were to use a free weight I would do 30-35 pounds. If…
  • She is referring to what the poster said about her math equation. She said to figure out your BMR and subtract 500 per day and that is what you are supposed to eat.
