Hi everyone,

So i know this topic was here many times, but this sugar business is really worrying me...i try to choose good foods, but if i eat 2 fruits and add the veggies, and yogurt, plus protein drink, i go way over my sugar intake 36-40g over.

I know some ppl say dont worry about it, others say yes worry about it... but how can i control this, this means i wont eat anything, EVERYTHING has sugar in it...should i be worried about not eating the processed sugar, and not worry about the "natural sugars" ??????? Or is SUGAR SUGAR period, no matter where it comes from?

As I understand it, sugar is sugar. Sort of. Sugar from sources like fruit and veg is better for you simply because it comes packed with fibre and other nutrients and therefore is digested more slowly. As a result it's handled differently by your body than processed sugar.

I'm of the group that thinks that if sugar comes from natural sources it can pretty much be ignored and I just worry about sugar from processed sources.

I don't track my sugars because of this. Pretty much all of my sugar comes from fruits and veggies. I suggest that if you're worrying then stop tracking it.
