Yes, I get this too. It's my understanding that the body retains water during this time. I sometimes even go up a size :o It can be frustrating lol

OP, it sounds like you are doing exercises that are causing you to gain muscle and that's why your weight went up but you are still the same dress/pants size.

I'm in! I would like to lose 5 pounds this month as well. I'll also do the same things as OP :smile: My ultimate goal is to lose 10 pounds before my birthday in November. I'm excited for this challenge! I think the hardest part will be no cheat meals :'(

I love Planet Fitness and I have been going there for years. I was at a community college for two years and went while I was there as well. Thanks! I think eating protein is a good idea. Since I am a college student, it usually ends up being whatever I can find. And yes, I agree with what you said was the long-term aim.

Here are some ideas: -Completely give up sugar -Change up your exercise routine. You may need to up the intensity or try a different kind of workout -Cut out bread. Not necessarily all carbs though. If you cut out bread that could make a difference. That's all I have right now!

Have you cut back on your calories? As far as I know, when you start losing weight, your calorific needs change.
