One sided jumping jacks are basically when you lift the right side up while the left side stays down, and then you lift the left side up and leave the right side down. So you look like you are balancing on one foot with the other foot and arm up in jumping Jack position. :)

I just had a need for chocolate cake last night. Man I thought I might eat my own arm and pretend it was chocolate cake! The reality is we have to live with food. Instead of having a huge bowl, have the 2/3 cup, even if you go over your calories a little bit it's okay as if you don't fill the need for the ice cream then…

No worries! You don't want to grab a table spoon and start eating sugar out of the canister, but the amount of sugar allowed on here is truly not very liveable, and like somebody else said, unless you are needing to cut sugar completely out for another reason don't sweat it too much. Concentrate on healthy! I'll bet that…

It's pretty good! I made it for lunch the other day!

I understand the ability to lose the motivation. When that happens I have to count ALL of the things that have changed since making a change in my diet. It's not always the pounds alone that count...it's the change in how I feel...in the long term health goals of being around longer and doing more things because I am…

Actually, once you let the one last bad day go...you won't be in a hurry to return to the habits you created. We have the ability to build in the things that we like, but you will begin to crave the salads, the veggies...the fruits and believe it or not you will crave movement as well. Three jobs is a lot, it probably…

Hey Razzle - Sounds to me like you have all the right goals! Don't get discouraged with one bad week. It takes time to create a work of art. :) Just take it slow...one day at a time. You'll find things that will discourage you and then you'll turn around and be inspired by something or someone and it gets you back up and…

It's delicious and it quenches my need for something sweet and its all healthy! How great is that?

I don't think it would hurt to try moving to 1800 calories, I would make sure you are drinking water like crazy and putting lemons in your water (some people add cucumbers too.) it helps aid digestion (a warm cup of water with lemon in the morning and one at night) and then just keep on drinking all day long. It really…

Sugar is an additive to foods (along with fat) that can make things addictive. It's not that sugar is bad, it's that sometimes it is hard to turn off the want for all things sugary. I believe that's why most people eat it in low amounts when watching what they eat. However, I would choose real sugar over fake sugars any…

You'll have to see what works for your body. 1200 calories is the bottom limit that women should intake. If you drop below that you'll gain weight or plateau...isn't that weird? Anyway, watch how it works, otherwise I'd say about 1500 calories is probably a good amount to intake. Join us over at Dwindling Expectations if…

I'll be happy to be part of your forum! If you guys would like to join our group at Dwindling Expectations, that would be great too! It's just a bunch of midwest girls (okay women although I feel as young as a girl). But I started at 262 pounds and am down and looking to lose at least 30 more but would probably be even…

I've been studying Nutrition for the past two years since starting my healthy lifestyle changes. What I found was when you drop below 1200 calories your body will convert into Starvation Mode...sucking up all the fat and not really losing fat instead losing muscle. So keep your calories at 1200 a day. When you are…
