  • I love these threads! Awesome transformations! I posted before/after pics here once I reached my goal, I've gained 15 back since these were taken and am working my way back down again! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/173209-goal-reached-and-a-pin-up-photo-shoot-reward
  • I also have the Garmin 410 and tried to use it during spin tonight but I can't figure it out! What type of activity did you set it at? I set it to biking but it obviously didn't track any distance, which is fine. I just want my calories burned. I was hoping there was a way to just set it to record only calories without…
  • Here's a post that shows some of my progress pics, I 've put back on about 15 and am working hard to re-lose them! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/173209-goal-reached-and-a-pin-up-photo-shoot-reward
  • I recommend the couch to 5k program, like the previous poster linked to... If you have an ipod/iphone etc, I really liked the podcasts by Robert Ullrey to follow along to, it gives run walk cues and takes about 9 weeks to get up to running for 30 consecutive minutes. It's what I used to get started, and I'm completely…
  • I think that happens to all of us! Like all things, our motivation and enthusiam will come and go. I'm at maintenance now, and I've found it harder than dieting! I've just had a bad two weeks where I was over almost every day, and am just finally getting back to it. I think it's okay, (and good even!) to let go for a…
  • Thanks so much everyone! It's so neat to see this post make it's way back up and get new responses! It seems to happen whenever I need a little kick in the butt motivation wise, so thank you for that!
  • I have excess skin on my stomach and thighs.. I've had two kids also, so I know my tummy will never be completely firm again, but it does bother me for sure! I also started at 200lbs and currently weigh 137.
  • Well done! You look amazing!
  • Hi! I am by no means an ultra runner, but rather a newbie (~1 year) runner hoping to work up to marathon distance in the next year or two. Last Friday I ran 10 miles with my sister, our farthest run to date, and the day after, (and every day since, to be honest) I have been RAVENOUS, so I can totally see how easy it is to…
  • Do you mean adding calories burned? You can create an exercise and then call it 'MiCoach' and then manually type in the calories you burned! Hope that helps!
  • Whoops! Here it is! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/173209-goal-reached-and-a-pin-up-photo-shoot-reward
  • Here's a link to my before/after thread! I need to update again though because I am down another few pounds and my 1 year MFP anniversary is any day now! :) I am 5'6", and currently around 136.
  • You can add 'strength training' in your cardio record too, but I agree, a HRM is the most accurate way to go!
  • Hey Samantha! I'm coming up on my one year anniversary on MFP, and I've lost 60+ pounds and am now in maintenance mode(and struggling with that!) If I can do it, anyone can! Feel free to add me if you'd like some support, I can always use some too!
  • It gives you your pace at certain distance and time intervals, and then you can log into the nike+ website and see a graph of your pace and on your route, etc. I really love it! If you link your Nike to Facebook, you can even have friends cheer you on when they post on your facebook and you will hear it when you run!
  • This is so not an answer to your question, but what I recommend is getting the Nike+ GPS app for $1.99, which will track your route, pace, and calories, and then use the free C25K podcasts by Robert Ullrey. The podcasts have music, and run/walk cues along with a few motivational phrases. It's what I used and it was great!…
  • Heart rate monitors are meant to be used during steady state cardio workouts like running, bicycling, elliptical, etc. They are not meant to be worn all day. MFP's goal and lifestyle settings will account for the calories you will burn doing regular day-to-day type activities, so you will only need to wear and use the HRM…
  • Pilates or something low impact like the elliptical?
  • LOL! I'm loving all the responses ladies, thank you! Comfort won out for my run tonight and I went with the granny panties, hee! I'm gonna give commando a shot though, and see if that's even comfier, since now I know it's fairly common! I don't think I could run in a thong... I tried once and I just kept thinking about the…
  • You can't go wrong leaving it at sedentary, that's what I do. That way anything you do during the day(activity wise) could theoretically be counted as exercise, but it'll just make the weight come off more quickly if you don't count it!
  • I saw that comment Theresa, and was put off by it as well! I don't think it's a jealousy thing, since this person is very fit themselves, but if it was concern, it was very poorly worded. I know that you have struggled to try and stop losing weight since you have reached your goal, and of course, it doesn't post your gains…
  • I try to compensate for an overage as well, but if you are under by 100 or so each day throughout the week then you aren't over as much as you think you are, so try not to stress about it too much! Keep up your water intake and carry on! As long as it's the exception and not the rule, you'll do fine!
  • WOW!!! Amazing what hard work and dedication will do! You loos A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!!!!
  • I occasionally go through and delete people also... I have a few people who friended me at the beginning of my journey who continue to be wonderfully supportive to me, and now that I have reached my goal and have posted a few B&A threads, I get a lot of friend requests, too! I accept everyone because I have no idea what…
  • Yay! Always looking for more running sites! Thank you! Has anyone been to bendoeslife.com? Another great weight loss/running blog...
  • Thank you everyone! I didn't follow any specific diet, I still ate what I wanted, but do my best to stay under my calories, so, things like cake and chocolate started not seeming "worth it" once I knew how many calories were in there! I still indulge on occasion, but try to make up for that as much as possible with…
  • I'm 5'6" and I recently met my initial goal of 140, and I'm happy here, though I am slowly trying to get down to about 135. I'm trying to focus more on fitness now than the actual number on the scale. I still see areas that could use some improvement but again I think toning is what's needed now versus losing much more…
  • Oh my goodness!! Here I am posting pics of myself in underwear, but THIS sure made me blush!! Thank you so much! And yes, my hubby loved me at my biggest, but can't keep his hands off me now, I weigh less than when we met!! Thanks again to everyone for your kind, wonderful words!!
