  • Kinda weird NSV but i hadn't run in about a week b/c the weather here has been awful, raining and cold. I had gotten pretty down on myself for skipping my runs. So, i got out there this morning expecting to be winded and outta shape and it felt amazing.
  • chicken picatta with steamed broccoli and steamed corn
  • Everyone's meals looks amazing!! I need to take more pictures! Last night I made a one-pot supper of smoked turkey sausage, basmati rice, diced tomatoes, garlic, bell pepper Worchester and had a biscuit on the side.
  • Are you judged each week on lbs lost or % lost? I was part of a biggest loser contest years ago and luckily on a team of folks that needed to lose a lot of weight. I told them right off the bat that I would participate but that over the 8 weeks I could only be responsible for losing about 10 lbs. I lost my share and our…
  • @meagenboulay there are a couple post partum groups on here. You can find them in "groups" and search key words. I am now 20 months out from my last child. It took me 12 months to even begin to exercise and eat right. Good job on starting early. But if you are breastfeeding be sure you are getting the calories that you…
  • @c4therineB that looks divine!!! Last night I made a mushroom and diced ham mixture that I put on top of biscuits, and I pan fried some petite Yukon gold potatoes
  • @kirstyfoy running with others will definitely make you start out a little faster unless you are super conscious of it and avoid that pitfall. I tend to do that. My first mile is fast, my second mile is average and my last mile is above average. I push a bit harder at the end b/c I can see the finish line and I want to be…
  • Loaded question. It completely depends on your situation what motivates you or not to get up early. Some mornings I simply need more sleep. Some mornings I'm rearing to go early. I try to get up a little before 5:30 and go running in my neighborhood before my hubby and babies wake. My motivation is not only to keep my same…
  • Street running is definitely harder. You have nothing under foot propelling you forward. I would get out and do some street runs on concrete just to get your legs and feet used to it.
  • Orange chicken with Asian stir fry and jasmine rice
  • I basically take any crock pot recipe and shorten it for the instant pot. My cooking time is based on the ingredient in the dish that takes the longest to cook. I can make most things in under 15 min unless meats are frozen.
  • I own 2. Got 2 for Christmas two Christmases ago and kept them both after a friend told me I'd probably end up using them both and she was right. I have a big one and a little one, not sure of either's size. I use the smaller one for sides mostly. I use the bigger one for everything.
  • I need to take more photos!! Last night was grilled steaks topped with with blue cheese and sautéed mushrooms, side included steamed asparagus and whipped sweet potatoes.
  • Good luck @kirstyfoy and @stoked2b ! I pick up my packet tomorrow and the race is Saturday morning. I did a run/walk this morning just to keep my blood flowing. I'm ready to put this race behind me and sign up for more. I'll continue to train 5k for a while then move on to 10k and beyond. I'd love to complete a 1/2…
  • I have a smoothie every morning. Starts my family off with some vitamins and minerals. For one person: 1 banana, handful of kale, 1/2 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of greek yogurt, 1/2 cup frozen fruit and a splash of oj everyone's tastes and needs are different but I love this one.
  • I’m finished!!! My 5k race is coming up on Saturday! Can’t wait.
  • If you are "sort of" binge eating then you might want to stop and think about why you are doing it. Why wait for your body to give you a cue to stop, just stop yourself. Eat slower and savor the flavor, make smaller portions and don't take seconds, no matter what. Stop when you know you have reached your calorie high. Your…
  • If you can burn the calories and then eat them back in cake I say go for it. Otherwise, divide the cake up into smaller containers and give it to the kids, friends or neighbors or anyone you see today to get rid of it. Either that or put it in the garbage and pour dish soap over top of it or raw chicken juice.
  • Considering I was lying in bed at halftime by the time I was able to get kids to bed and the house cleaned, I didn't eat anything different and it felt awesome. Regular dinner for us then regular routine. Had I eaten it would have been a bunch of junk I don't need.
  • This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • White bean and bacon soup in the crock pot
  • I don't feel guilt but I make sure it fits in my calories. I'm going out to eat tonight with my in laws and i'm so excited about it. No offense but McDs would NOT be the food I would choose if I had calories to burn...might be why you weren't enjoying it.
  • I can't whip you back into shape, only you can do that for yourself, but my diary is open to friends and I log (or try to) daily. I am running a 5k next weekend and have been training for 8 weeks. after this it is on to the 10k. I'm a mom of two kids under two and have an amazing husband, job and life.
  • Made my kiddos some French bread grilled cheeses with sliced tomatoes and mashed potatoes. I had leftovers
  • Finished week8 day 1. 37 degrees this morning and beautiful. I went 3.15 miles and burned 311 calories. I'm so glad to finally see the calories over 300. My race is next weekend! Two more days of training and I'll probably do a walk/run Thursday as to not miss a day.
  • Are you an amazon prime member? you can choose just about any kind of music/station/artist and listen for free. You just download the song into your music and go.
  • Last night was chicken and tortellini soup with parmesan cheese bread...it was scrumptious and the kids and the hubby loved it. I made enough that the hubs and I can eat leftovers for lunch the rest of the week. Yeah
  • @kirstyfoy Congratulations on making your 5k!! Way to go! I finished week 7, day 3 this morning. VERY cold here, 21degrees at 5:30 a.m. !! Distance: 2.87 calories: 283 not sure of pace but I'm doing alright. My 5k race is next weekend so I've got the last week of runs to do to make it to my goal.
  • Ask some friends or family to get you guys some easy meals that can be warmed in the oven or even microwave that are healthy and easy. You can add a salad to each one when you have time. Otherwise, keep healthy snack available so you aren't reaching for crap. My husband was sure to make oatmeal for us every morning with…
