  • New clothes that fit better.
  • My go-to dinner is pan seared salmon with lemon, a pat of butter, seasoned with a hint of Cheyenne pepper. Add a bag of steamable veggies (the whole bag) and you have a quick low cal, low fat, high protein dinner.
  • :'( I dunno how to add ppl here.
  • Squats, squats squats....and more squats. Transform your booty! From jiggly to firm and round like a cherry tomato.
  • Fried foods, denied foods. Just a prelude to my bad mood. I want some Burger King and onion rings. And some sugar powdered sweetened things. My malady is my calories. I can’t go over my dietary salary. I gotta eat right, eat less, eat light, eat best. Exercise and exorcise my yearnings. Stay inside my dietary earnings. I…

  • Since you're already here on MFP you know to watch your calories so when the sweet cravings hit try some berries, in moderation of course. And when I get a chocolate craving I have a glass of chocolate cashew milk instead of a slice of chocolate cake. Just keep track of your calories!
  • I am so digging the creativity of these posts!
  • Shut up and dance by Walk the Moon. You cannot not move when you listen to it.
  • One of goals is to avoid having the physique of a garden gnome by my next birthday. Or at least have my waist measurement smaller than my chest measurement.
  • 3 weeks and no results? The premise of MFP is to burn more calories then you take in. It's a simple physics principle; less in, more out = weight loss. If you're not see it, it could be metabolic related issue. Check with your doctor just be sure. Good luck.
  • I like that idea of taking it day by day and not just focusing on a goal line that's down the road. It makes the journey less daunting. Enjoy the small accomplishments and one day you'll look up and see that you arrived. Good luck to you!
  • LOL I think this is got to be a part of everyone's motivation. It's that glance in the mirror as you get out of the shower that can really be an eye opener.
  • Awesome thoughts and ideas. Thanks everyone! I've lost 8 lbs in my first week so I'm sort of riding the high of those results right now although I know I'm going to plateau soon. These are some great ideas to focus on going forward.
  • Even though you're just starting this journey find a way to incorporate some exercise and you can increase your calorie intake. Start small/slow - a walk to the end of the block and back - add a little more every other day. We all need to eat, it's not easy to re-learn to eat the right things in the right portions. Maybe…
  • Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire. And Trueblood...which is soft porn with vampires and werewolves.
  • I'm about 3 lbs away from my goal weight and I can't see NOT logging. It's only taken me about 100 days to get where I want to be but logging what I eat daily will really help keep me on track.:drinker:
  • Hello! You can add me too if you want. I don't do a lot of exercise but since being a regular on MFP I've lost 17+ lbs just through dieting and calorie counting. I'm a pretty good home chef and always have creative, easy to make (low-calorie) ideas and recipes. Good luck to you and to everyone in the same boat!
  • Bologna. I've been told I'm full of it.
  • I like flow! Really like the yogurt poem!
  • Irish coffee
  • I'm no expert but it sounds as though you might be gaining muscle mass the same time you're losing fat. And as we all know, muscle weighs more than fat. It might help to lower your calories per day since currently your'e only losing the calories you work off during your work out. (2000 is the norm you burn without working…
  • Thanks deannemlea, I think it really is a state of mind too. I should change "cheat" to "reward". And I like your idea of having a weekly bonus instead. I often find myself under my daily calorie goal so I could just use those at the end of the week as my "reward" but still not have compromised my entire dietary plan for…
  • I have a cheat day. But like with most things you cheat on there's a sense of guilt. I'm new to dieting and there are some foods I just REALLY miss. I think eventually I'll forgo the cheat days after I no longer crave those foods (I like the weight loss and feeling good about myself more than I do the pizza) but it's a…
  • I really dig all the responses. Thanks!

  • Thanks everyone. I appreciate the support and loads of great info. And Art, I'll be looking into the training plan. Incidentally, besides getting in shape I'm quitting smoking at the same time. So basically I'm a hungry, irritable filiwegian. But I'm getting better every day. Thanks again everyone for the encouragement.…
  • Motivation is the key, ain't it? Too bad you can't just buy motivation in a box or something. I'd have a bowl of it every morning. I'm in the same boat. Started a diet/exercise plan before...life intruded and we all know that story. So good luck to you (and to everyone). Stay positive and like the ad says "Just do it!"…
  • Sorta a newbie too. Good luck to you Tara! (From Texas)
