I have a similar problem. I've found that varying the types of stretches has helped. Also, I don't think I was holding the stretches long enough. I now do a "20 second count" instead of a 10. I started week two today. I'm also using the podcast. I have signed up for a 5K race on June 21st, so I need to stick with the program. :smile: Going pretty well so far, but still worried I won't make it through the whole thing. Good luck. Keep me posted on your progress.

I'm trying to lose inches around my waist, so I'm doing abdominal crunches to try to tone up the muscle. Seems to be working, but it's slow progress. :smile:

Well, I don't have a scientific answer for you, but I do know that some of the strongest guys I ever worked with were wiry little dudes not big body builder types. My opinion is that if you notice you're getting stronger, you're doing it right. You don't necessarily want to build up a whole lot of mass.
