Welcome FranksSand, congrats on cutting back. Less is better than more in my book. I am working on mindful moderation: AF Sunday thru Thursday then 2 or 3 on the weekend. Some weeks are better than others, oh well. It’s just like my weight loss journey, one day at a time?

Thank you for continuing this thread into September. The information page at the beginning of each month is so helpful. I refer to it often during the month. Once again I am still planning a mindful moderation month. AF Sunday-Thursday, limit 2 Friday and Saturday.

As with any group sometimes people can say something that you may not agree with...skip over those posts.Overall the group here is supportive and compassionate. Like EIC_76, I’ve learned to moderate. My relationship with alcohol is changing. I’m thankful for be able to come here and learn from you all.

It’s true...really hard to get back to moderation after vacation, especially when it’s summer. Every night something’s happening and you get caught up. Restarting on Sunday, AF during the week, 2 Friday & Saturday.

A stressor for me is dealing with my Mom. I am like Pavlov’s dog wishing for a drink when I call her and she doesn’t answer the phone. Mom is a very strong willed, independent 81 year old. Love this thread! I’m getting ready for a garage sale this weekend. I am finally going through boxes we packed when moving here 10 years ago. I convinced my 23 year old son to sell video games and boyhood stuff. Feeling very empowered and have been on point with my weight loss quest this week

Hi, I’m in! I like @WinoGelato’s plan of Mindful Moderation. My goal is AF Sunday-Thursday and making deliberate choices on Friday and Saturday. Trying to break behavior patterns are challenging, so glad to have this group because it’s nice to have like minded folks to learn from.

It’s amazing what triggers the “I’d like a drink” response. Almost gave in this week but instead went to bed early and had one of those long, convoluted dreams about a Russian mafia guy dressed in disco outfit posing as a college Professor of a class I didn’t know I was taking, hahaha.

Thank you for the responses. My doctor prescribed a low dose of Crestor 5mg, twice a weekbut otherwise approved of my diet. We will recheck it at my physical at the end of November.

Thank you Julie for hosting this thread. I am trying to cut back on alcohol because I realize it’s slowing down my weight loss as well becoming a every night thing. In March I started not drinking Sunday through Thursday and cut back on the weekends. I plan to continue that pattern in April and be much more alcohol aware.…
