Well over a year later and I am back up. I went from 250 lbs down to 233 (17 lb lost) then just lost it. Stopped running, stopped eating right and tracking, and stopped prioritizing health. Weighed in at 245 today... grr. So today I am back with a new goal. 205 before 2016! That's 395 days to lose 40 lbs, or ~0.1 lbs/day,…

Treadmill is much harder than running outside for me because you never get a downhill. Unless you are working with the new treadmills with a downhill setting I prefer outside. As to 1% incline, there is a chart comparing mile times with incline to flat mile times as far as working out. The higher the incline the slower you…

You should give them a competitors address and see hilarity ensue.

Awesome reason to stick with it. My suggestion would be to ensure you log every day without fail. If you are accountable to your diet you will be accountable to all of us, and you WILL succeed. Can't wait to read your success story of saving 2 lives :) (your own and your brothers)

Bring some powder mix (crystal lite) in your purse and mix it in a vodka water. Low calorie and delicious!

I will try this once I finish my C25k plan and run my 5k. Sounds like a good idea though!

Edited above post, but it went from 180's to 130's in 0.2 miles of cool down.

Been running since September 9th. Have about 250 miles under my belt. Never increased more than the app told me to. Last night's run was about .3 miles longer than I had done before, so from 3.0 to 3.3, which is exactly 10% I guess... My heart rate was back down to 130's after about 0.2 miles, so take that for what its…

Polar Wearlink+, love it. Its the one for android and has Bluetooth for my running apps.

$300 is something I just can't afford honestly.

I was wearing a loose long sleeved shirt and a tighter undershirt. Not sure this would have any impact, the electrodes were clearly wet when I returned from the run. Can anyone see the run data? I was in the 185-194 for a long period of time, and did not feel like I was overexerting myself.
-
Because it was so consistently high over the run I am obligated to think it was correctly reading my heart rate. I have no reason to think it was reading incorrectly. I did wet the electrodes and got a clear reading through the entire workout. Walking pace was consistent with what I expected. I should add that I was a…

In a typical industry this might be the case, in the minimum wage no-skill industry it would go off without a hitch IMO.

EMT medic is a skilled position. Making 100 burgers a day and getting special orders correct at a 50% accuracy rate is not.

In the free market, people generally are paid what they're worth, based on the value they add to the business.

Run naked in sub-zero weather. It really adds to the community feel in your neighborhood.

It matters to her, and that's what matters. Remember marriage isn't for you, its for making her happy. Get the ring resized and go on with life.

Update: 15 lbs down and slowing down a bit. I went out for pizza and ate 4 slices without even realizing it until I was done... pizza is my weakness for sure. Also losing motivation to track my eating. My losses have been great, right on track for what I would expect in the first month and a half, and I am really…

Was on a recruiting trip for my engineering firm and the guys I was with wanted to stop at Canes chicken. I got the caniac combo with a dr pepper and extra sauce. It was insanely delicious, but put me WAY over on sodium for that day.

My opinion is that it got me up and working out again to lose weight. Flawed or not a TON of people are getting motivated to make changes. I also agree that if the BMI is off there should be a second measurement that you can apply for. The BMI isnt the only factor, its bloow pressure (Mine is great), cholesterol (mine is…

Treat the loss as a % instead of lbs? That's really my only suggestion.

He only made it through about .9 miles. I am working on his fitness as well :). He is a great dog with a TON of energy and has been cooped up with the new arrival.
