Oh, to hearken back to the Dorothy L'Amour/Marilyn Monroe days!!!! Do you know that by today's standards, Marilyn Monroe was a SIZE 14????? DATS RIGHT!!!!!! I remember a few years ago, Elizabeth Hurley said something really rude about her - like how she thought she was beautiful but would never want to be as "big" as…

Um, she's 47 and just had a baby boy on October 6th!!!

Do you mean using it like a parachute? It's tougher to run because you're running against resistance...They combine resistance training and interval training in a single workout and runners/athletes use it to gain explosiveness. Not sure how that helps with getting rid of a tummy...

I posted previously here, but this recent one is from 10/18 when I was 18.7 lbs down (now am at 21 - WOOT!)

DAYUM!!!! You're stunning.

Amelia -- just the fact that you WANT it is a huge step!!! So give yourself some credit!!! Start using the food diary - know that you can eat anything you want, but you've got to make those calories stretch throughout the whole day so you "might" want to consider making "better" food choices (i.e., maybe a veggie omelet…

Did you try weighting something with a finite weight and seeing what the scale says? (like putting a lb bag of something on it and seeing if it really says it's 1 lb?) Did you weigh yourself nekked at the same time of day?

It's better if you make your own - then you know exactly what's in it! Most restaurants have something healthy on the menu - of course, YOU CAN EAT WHATEVER YOU DAMN WELL PLEASE...the trick is making your choices fit within your daily caloric limit.

Is there a farmer's market where you live? Sometimes we go there - we can usually pick up tons of fresh veggies and fruits, and if you go a little later, they are almost always willing to throw something in for a deal...for instance, there was one stand that had bags of spinach leaves, spring salad mix, and romaine hearts.…

You can always start with walking. If you can't make it very far, that's OK - you'll probably get your heartrate up pretty quickly! Then work on building your stamina - walk longer and longer each time. Once you get to a certain point, you can start jogging or running if you like (I hate it). I do jump roping - I used to…

Hey, there -- GREAT for you for coming to this realization and taking steps to improve your life! I wish I had been so dedicated back when I was your age!!! (But better late than never, right??) Best of luck to you and thanks for sharing.

I like Abby Huot. She's a fitness model. I like that she's lean and toned, but not overly muscular. My husband likes that she still has softness and suppleness and "looks like a woman."

Well you're certainly off on the right foot!!! Congrats on your dedication and success thus far! :-D

Nothing too exciting - but this is my "go to" turkey/ham sandwich with avo, sprouts, cukes, and red lettuce leaves on whole wheat and I love it!

Great article on the "3 meals per day / 6 meals per day" debate... http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=56254 For me, I am one of those folks that prefers to eat every 2-3 hours. It does help me stave off hunger because I'm constantly eating; for others, they don't need to do that and can just have 3…

Yay!!! If you're diligent about it, it will only be helpful in the long run -- you'll be able to identify any items you're eating that "sound" great but might have more sugar or sodium than you'd like to consume. I know that using it religiously has really helped me identify patterns - I try to repeat the successful ones…

Check your diary - have you been eating more salty foods, causing you to retain more water? Maybe you can identify a pattern of what you've been eating that has been causing you to slightly gain. (Most women gain during that TOM as well.) Also, yes, what the person above me said - there are other measurements to go…

You and RM1 can probably eat the same things - just RM1 would eat more. This kinda describes my husband and I - when we cook, he makes sure there are 3-4 oz portion sizes for me, and then he eats the big pieces. Chicken, steak, whatever - we eat the same thing. As for RM2, I would say double-up on the veggie side dishes…

Good for you!!! I do the same thing - I eat every 2-3 hours. While it's true you can "eat anything" and lose weight as long as there is a calorie deficit, when you're eating 3 meals and 3 snacks everyday, you've got to make good choices in order to make those calories last all day long! WAY TO GO in taking these first…

W-O-W!!!!! You look incredible, and THANK YOU for sharing your story!!!!! Truly. I hope to be where you are sometime next year and reading these kinds of posts are incredibly encouraging. BRAVA!!!!!

Are you asking if you have to eat the max that it estimates for you? Or are you talking about exercise calories? use the SEARCH tool to look for a similar post - I'm sure there are a ton already. Lots of knowledgeable folks here!

My scale does the BF%; I don't pay attention to the exact number, but rather that it's declining. That's what's important to me. And if it's off by as much as yours is off, then I think I'm close to DEAD at this point!!!

For salty cravings, I eat popcorn. The Fit Popcorn approved by the Biggest Loser is very taste and a serving is almost 4 cups. That's a bowl full. Or I eat a sheet of dry roasted seaweed from Trader Joe's - or crumble it onto something that I want to add a salty flavor to. A package is only 99 cents. For chocolate, I eat…

I make mine in a blender then pour them into the blender bottle. The bottle keeps it mixed. I can't mix my shake in the blender bottle, however -- it would never annihilate the ice and the banana like I like it.
