  • Run for the hills. Him and his tool can finally be happy sticking pages together, and you can move on with your life and find yourself a nice guy (there are plenty of them) who will appreciate you as a desirable, sexy, wanted life partner to be with, and not just as a walking vajayjay with an annoying person attached to…
  • Crikey I'm glad you warned me then.... I could accidentally have baby chickens! Hahaha. I wonder if it's got chaste tree berry in it - that's for fertility and ovulation (at the right dosage).
  • I don't have any exes. But that doesn't stop me from ROFL at this comment hahaha. Love it. ;-P
  • I use all natural method to control my pcos (which is now unsymptomatic) and insulin resistance. I'll send you some information which explains the mess it makes of our hormones and how to get that control back over our endocrine system. While everyone focuses on the reproductive hormones (estrogen, progesterone, androgen,…
  • I have already managed to get my pcos unsymptomatic using natural vitamins, minerals and an enzyme, so I'm not sure how I'll tell if I add inositol to my regime ;-) but hmmmm... I might trial that on myself and see if my ovaries blow up. I'm a bit scared of acupuncture (always concerned about cleanliness of anything that…
  • Welcome to the group! I know you will find a lot of support from fellow pcos ir sufferers here. I have found the natural methods of rebalancing my endocrine system in order to control pcos very very successful. I learned about natural control of pcos and ir from reading medical journals and studies. I'd be fascinated to…
  • @Nicmania10. By day 2: no more hot flash. By day 6: TOM after no TOM for 2 years. Menopause gone. (scaled dosage back from 4g to 2g) By day 7: actually able to lose weight when dieting (1kg for the week). By week 3: another TOM (making up for lost time) plus some breakthrough bleeding as hormones adjusted. By week 4: PCOS…
  • She is right, and she deserves some kudos for recognising that the pill isnt a cure for pcos. When your endocrine system hormones are imbalanced, it doesn't just effect reproductive hormones (estrogen, progesterone, androgen, testosterone) but also your metabolic hormones (insulin, adrenalin, leptin, cortisol) because they…
  • Passes ibcsrl19 a :flower: crikey you really scored a trifecta there! Best wishes to you! And if you see a sign that says 'queue here for more metabolic disorders' RUN! .... AWAY! ;-P
  • OMG!!! OMG!!! I'm not sure what worries me more... Learning that you can get 'crabs' from fruit, veggies and whole grains... Or wondering where you have to put them for that to happen. ROFL!! ;-). Gosh I hope that was a typo LOL! ;-P
  • Hello and welcome to the group (and mfp). I think it's a great tool. Help yourself to the resources and info here and feel welcome to ask any questions. Best wishes xx. :-)
  • 2g magnesium, calcium, vitamin d plus 2g vitamin c stirred into glass of unsweetened oj plus a zinc capsule (for hormone balance/PCOS) I had results in 6 days. For insulin resistance, manage (not eliminate) carbs and coq10 enzyme. Restrict exercise to 35-45min to avoid cortisol overproduction. I also take superfoods and…
  • Also... I didn't have bloodwork done for PCOS diagnosis. I had a catscan which revealed multiple ovarian cysts and a pelvic exam. What exactly were they looking for? I should think the only thing that would turn up in blood result in increased androgen.
  • I am not a doctor, I am just a chicken that knits. But I've had PCOS since 17 and I have (in more recent times) done a lot of research on PCOS and IR and well... you scream PCOS to me sweetie. That whole drop to the kitchen floor thing, that's a cyst rupturing. Had that plenty of times before I learned how to control it…
  • Well written. Also, Your endocrine system hormones are not just reproductive (estrogen, progesterone, etc.) they are also metabolic (insulin, cortisol, leptin, adrenalin) so when you introduce synthesized hormones it can mess up your own (including your metabolic hormones) much more in some people than in others. People…
  • It's turmeric. The root is better than the prepackaged powder. And the heat and inhale method is better than making a drink. And if i may be so bold, you may want to swap your dairy eg. Instead of milk use almond milk until you recover. And I probably not have to tell you this on mfp but stay away from high sugar like coke…
  • PCOS /IR messes up not just your reproductive hormones like most people think, but your metabolic hormones as well (cortisol, leptin, insulin, adrenalin, etc.). This is why PCOS so easy gain and so hard to lose. But it can be reigned back in and once you learn how to control PCOS/IR we can diet with the best of them. So…
  • I not TOM for 2 years. By day 6 of taking 4g mag/calc/vit d ...4g Vit c ... 30mg Zinc I TOMed so I scaled back to 2g. My PCOS now unsymptomatic as these are the hormone balancing essential vitamins and minerals and studies show we PCOS always deficient in these. I researched medical books and studies to find this out. PCOS…
  • Hi Kim (and all you fellow PCOS gals welcome), I remember going through that phase of exercising my guts out, dieting hard (i went down to 700 calories t one stage) only to be gaining weight at an astonishing rate and told I am 'obviously' eating too much and not exercising enough - by my doctor! You CAN diet successfully…
  • @laurajethan. There is a group called PCOS SIS and one called PCOS and low glycemic index eating. I didn't see any others. :-). I control my PCOS IR naturally but I had results in just 6 days. 2g magnesium, calcium, vitamin d blend in the right proportions plus 2g vitamin c stirred into unsweetened orange juice plus a 30mg…
  • *Hugs* to thebrianmo for seeing this topic and caring enough to contribute. I hope all you PCOS girls check out the PCOS group on mfp, come on over. Lots of open discussion and tips and tricks there for you. There are things we can do naturally to help get our hormone balance back in more normalized state and control IR…
  • It is called COQ10 Enzyme. PCOS sufferers are often insulin resistant because of the condition of the cell receptors that detect blood glucose and the cell membranes which allow the glucose to penetrate into the cell for energy. COQ10 helps the blood glucose get into the cell in much the same way that insulin does, and it…
  • PCOS is linked to Insulin Resistance (which can turn into diabetes in about 1 in 4 people); increased risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, high blood pressure, heart disease, adrenal fatigue, anxiety/panic attack, kidney disease, liver dysfunction, thyroid cancer, early menopause, and who can forget…
  • Yeah... And don't forget to put the candy money you saved x 2 into your 'some nice reward for me' jar. In a coupl of weeks you'll have a new pair of shoes, or a bangle, or a he scent you haven't tried... Or...;-p
  • I recommend you google 'insulin resistance quiz' and take a quick anonymous online test. It might not be a plateau. And your profile comments indicate some symptoms of IR. If you score over 10, you might want to get a test done from a doctor. Some doctors don't see a problem unless it is diabetes which is actually a bit…
  • * Pats krystymc on the back and says "that was a good job in there buddy". I especially liked the part where you picked up that guy's eyeball off the floor, calmly dusted it off on your lapel, and popped it right back into his socket. ;-p But seriously, this is a tough one and those machines are a problem. I used to deal…
  • Officially once a week. But just to monitor, I weigh daily at the msame time. I am not concerned about daily upward fluctuations but I do record any new lows. This helps me with my motivation. At least that's what works for me. :-)
  • If BioOil hasnt worked for you, I am aware that Laser treatment can be used to remove red and to lessen stretch marks, however I do not have any personal experience in this particular issue, so I speak only from what I have read and heard. I am sorry I cannot be of further help to you on this, best wishes.
  • I changed my default nutrition goals in mfp to 40% carb, 30% protein, 30% fat because that better reflects the program I follow. Work out what you want your proportions to be that suit your program and set your mfp to that. :-)
  • If you answer YES to the following questions, feel welcome to look me up for help: Do you have a fair bit to lose? I.e. obese category. Do you tend to put weight on around your tummy? Do you crave sweets, especially in the evening? Do you tend to put weight on very easily without eating a lot? Do you find it difficult to…
