WOW! I was having a bad morning, and I spoke kindly to myself. And it worked! You are an inspiration - thank you for sharing your story. Just a few questions: 1) What was your calories per day? 2) How tall are you?

And this one! http://physiqonomics.com/8-reasons-calorie-deficit/ I love the way the author write this! Kicked some sense into me today

High five to another colby-loving cheese fan! We rock!

Yoghurt, cheese and milk. I remember comparing low-fat yoghurt with full fat and was horrified to see the sugar content in the low-fat. Never again! Skim milk is water and cheese....don't you touch my full fat of awesomeness cheese! I do prefer low-fat fresh ricotta - tastes better and much nicer to cook witj...but that's…

Can you afford a personal trainer? If so, I would seriously consider it as they will direct you and show you correct form etc. A PT will also give a program. If not, the interwebs has a plethora of videos on beginner strength trainer.

I've been on holidays since Thursday and I bought a small scale and logged everything! I now have a box, with scales in it, labelled "travel scales" 😊 And I've stayed on or slightly under my net calories!

This may sound strange, but my teeth look whiter and feel cleaner!

@hazelsmom89 Huge hugs. I hope your husband is supportive and providing you positive motivation.

Another Adelaidean here, who's also melting! Currently 41°C :(

@kimny72 AGREED! 1200 cal is not a easy at all. During my first weight loss journey, I didn't have MFP. I remember what a typical day was, so I calculated my net cals. It was 1600. I lost 44kg in about 12 months back then. And yes, there is not enough veggies or zero-cal noodles to satisfy my hunger!
-
I've set myself 1400-1600 cal a day. I usually sit around 1500. I've tried 1200 and I can't do it. I have a lot to lose (50kg/100lb) but it has to be sustainable! Feel free to add me 😊

I work out at a gym with mostly military men. About 6 years ago I had one guy go to town on another guy who was apparently fat-shaming me. I had no idea - I was on the treadmill trying not to die with earbuds listening to trance! After I could hear shouting, I took off my earbuds, where this 18/19 year old boy apologised.…

Hi, I'm 37 and have been trying to get back on track. It was so much easier in my 20's because I was a single career woman with absolutely no responsibility other than myself. By age 32, I was a married mother of 2! So my 30's consisted of me trying to figure out motherhood, giving a real go at my career, trying to stay…

So, for the first time in my MFP journey (and there has been a few!) I've eaten back exercise calories, albeit 50% of them. And that chocolate was the most satisfying chocolate I have ever had....

First thing in the morning after the toilet and before my shower. I weigh myself everyday. I am now trying to make a habit of logging my weight everyday so I can see trends. I know that my weight will increase at TOM (up to 2.5kg) for about 2 weeks, but it should be a downward trend, nevertheless. I just need to note when…

I have never eaten back my exercise calories and I think know that is one of the reasons why I failed so dismally with my weightloss in the past. I was way under the 1200 calorie mark and my mental health seriously suffered. I would give up at the 12 week mark. This time around, I will firstly eat back 50% of my exercise…

Happy anniversary :)

I didn't snack for the past 3 night. Not because I had to use all the will power and self-control, plus reserves, to stop me, but I just didn't feel hungry. I have upped my protein for the past 3 days. And what an immediate result! At my PT session, my PT was very impressed with my technique. So much so he had to rethink…

Another potato lover here. Anyone that tells me that potatoes aren't good for weight loss will have me throwing a potato at their head. I love them!

I have two digitial food scales at home and I use them religiously. One thing to remember when using grams and ml for liquids - if meauring liquids in grams, food scales are set for the weight of water, i.e. 1gm = 1ml. 1 metric cup (250ml) of orange juice is NOT 250g. It's more. That is why I will only use mls for liquids.

What you have described is me to a tee. I feel incredibly lazy, sleepy and unmotivated during ovulation until Aunt Flo arrives. I do what you do - reduce salt, still exercise and eat healthy. I will gain an easy 2-5kg (I think thats 5-10lb) during ovulation. I now know this will occur so I stop weighing myself, especially…

Add another to the the group. I have 50kg, which is about 100lb

I have my first personal training session tonight! I am beyond excited!

Feel free to add me too. I have 50kg, or 100lb+ to lose
