I've hit a plateau a few times in my weight loss journey. It would last a week or sometimes two. I learned to just keep doing what I was doing and not worry. I guess our bodies have to adjust to all the change or something. I am really close to goal weight and I recently hit a plateau that lasted 2 months. I decided I had…

I'm about to call it quits. My original goal was 133 but now it's 139. I'm at 142 right now and right in the middle of healthy BMI. But I really want to see the 130's. Then I'm happy. Because it's taking forever to get the last few pounds off and I'm getting tired.
-
Absolutely. It's the change in eating pattern that's helping me eat less.

DONT go to the waffle house once a week! You'll crave sugar for days afterwards. It only takes a couple bites to awaken the beast. Seriously! I cut sugar out a long time ago. I was miserable for 3-4 weeks like you. Withdrawals and crabbiness and horrendous cravings. All that went away. About 4 months later I decided to…

I eat about 1300. I've started eating one big meal a day at lunch time and snacks the rest of the day. I don't eat in the morning because I'm not hungry. It's working for me. I eat less calories and it got me losing again after I hit a long plateau.

I'd eat more protein and less carbs and try cutting back on the days that are easier for you. I teach kindergarten. On my teaching days I don't eat much because I'm so busy. But as soon as the kids go home for the day I am ravenous. So I eat a bunch of calories all at once! But the other days I eat more regularly and less…

I've lost 141. 3 lbs to go until my ultimate goal! You can add me. Happy to help however I can.

I'm trying to get the last 3 lbs off. I'm skipping breakfast and eating a big lunch and then a couple of small snacks in the evening. I'm not really hungry in the morning and I think it's helping.

I think it helps to mix it up. Every couple days eat more calories and the other days keep it at 1200. Seems like my body goes into conservation mode when I keep my calories low day after day.
-
Yes but my body looks a lot different now after I cut out sugar and carbs than when I was this weight years ago and ate all kinds of junk. My butt and legs are waaaaay smaller. I think estrogen probably plays into it also.

Oh man! I don't look worse. I was a size 24 and now I am a 6. I look soooooo much better in comparison. But that's the thing. I don't have a size 6 Karen who has more muscle to compare to. All I know Is the thinner I get the better I look. I am taking you guy's word for it about muscle building.

Oh! Food allergies have a whole slew of symptoms. I never realized just how much they effect you. I had GI trouble, joint pain, back aches, menstrual cramps, depression, anxiety. skin issues, breathing and blood pressure issues. So if you are miserable and can't figure out why... go get a scratch test. It's taken a couple…

Well... I was sick and in pain constantly. Didn't realize I had undiagnosed food allergies until I started an elimination diet and then saw the allergist. One of my kids is special needs and I spent some time feeling angry about life and mad at myself for not being able to fix her or myself. I decided one day to start…

Oh ok. Thanks for the link. It looks pretty hard but maybe something I could try. It would keep things interesting and challenging.

Don't eat out much at all. It's very hard to not earn more calories. It's never prepared the same way you would at home. I pretty much eat the same foods every day and prepare them at home and eat at home. If I do go out I don't eat much at all. It's just not worth it. So true about the water! So many times when I think I…

I'm listening you guys. Thank you! It makes a lot of sense. I eat clean and organic but I have food allergies which make it difficult to get all the fruits/veggies I need. So I need to work on expanding my diet as well. I appreciate your thoughts.

I do intervals walking/jogging. It keeps me interested. I have never been a runner. But I am so happy with how much easier it is to jog now. I used to walk hills but I live in a flat area now. Treadmill incline might work.

Gotcha. I am realizing I have to do something. Because I am thin now but I am flabby thin. I don't like it. But when you spend months and months losing weight and setting goals it's extremely hard not to be focused on the scale anymore. It's not that I have someone to impress on the scale. It's that for sooooo long I have…

Losing a lot of weight really is a process. Your mind needs time to catch up to your body. So many things change quickly especially as you get pretty small. It takes time.

People always say muscle burns more calories. Is that true? Building muscle will pay off in the end because the weight will come off faster? I dunno. I know being toned makes you look better.

The first 80 came off quickly... 9 months. Then I was so happy to be a size 16 and tired of always thinking about weight that I decided to take a break. I waited a year and just enjoyed life. Then I felt ready to start again. It took me a year to lose the other 55. I didn't exercise hard or count calories really. Just at…

Yah maybe. I know. Just worried about losing momentum and I really want to make it to my goal which is 135. Right now I am 148 and 5.6.

I am sooooo glad to be in my 40's. My 20's were fun but I was naive. My 30's were full of sleep deprivation and trying to survive raising a special needs kid. My 40's feel so much more settled and calm. I lost 133 pounds over the last couple of years. The only thing I had to work for initially was my mental image of myself…

No. I just power through. Try to distract myself. The cravings are strong during those time though!

I wouldn't weigh more than once a day in the morning first thing after bathroom and naked. When I first started losing I weighted once a week. Because I figured out I had a weekly cycle. I'd lose ounces for a few days. Then about the 5th day I'd get heavier by a pound or pound and a half. But on weigh in day I had dropped…

Allergy scratch tests are very common. But I am sure living in a remote area makes it very difficult :( You could try eliminating allergens like I did, journal every day your symptoms and figure it out. That's how j figured out sulfate intolerance. If nothing else, drink apple cider vinegar. The days I was in so much pain…
-
Oh! I never counted calories and I lost 133 lbs. Didn't need to count. I was so interested in tracking foods/symptoms and learning to listen to my body. The weight just fell off.
-
Hey there! I have similar issues and I basically did FODMAPS and a very strict elimination diet and I started losing weight that way. 133 lbs later I am sooooo much healthier and my IBS is way better. It is so worth it! I discovered I have food allergies btw. Have you done a scratch test for allergies? I discovered I was…

Too funny!

I've steered clear of any diets. I have friends who did the ketogenic but they didn't stick with it long. It doesn't seem too sustainable.
