  • I have never tried baking with Stevia. I use a little to mix in things and then it doesn't taste bad. Maybe Splenda for baking?
  • I am from Michigan and love the Wings! But live north of Boston and love the Bruins too! So I am screwed with this realignment! They hardly play each other but next season will be conference rivals I am sure! LOVE college hockey which is big here in New England with Maine, Boston, Boston College and UNH all out here! :)
  • I am set at sedentary so I choose to eat back roughly half of my exercise calories. I choose to eat half just in case the calories burned estimates here are higher than what I actually burn. It has worked well for me allowing 1260 calories a day before exercise and earning another 200-250 calories when I burn 400-500…
  • A lot of times I use a lower sodium Italian dressing. I marinade it in it for a few hours. :) I buy Mrs. Dash seasoning too. Or any low sodium marinade. :)
  • I personally think the rowing machine is going to work completely different muscles from the elliptical so I think it will be a good switch and help in your weight loss. I have an elliptical at home and no gym so I can't switch and don't use it. But I think it would be a great upper body workout with cardio. Where I feel…
  • Are you drinking your 8 glasses of water a day? If not, there could be water weight. Especially if you are over on your sodium allowances. And make sure you are eating as close to your calorie allowance as possible and they say to eat back half the calories from a work out. Lastly, is your exercise routine the same thing…
  • Awesome job! Keep it up! I am hoping to lose 60-70 pounds by September. I am also pretty heavy (250 lbs 5'6") and am getting married in September. I am hoping to be down to 180 by then and continue on to 140 after that! You are an inspiration!
  • I balance the natural sugars with protein and go over on both everyday. I was told balancing them is good. Also, watching your sodium is way more important. You wouldn't believe how quick that can sky rocket in a day!
  • Greek Yogurt with 1/2 scoop whey protein powder (usually vanilla) and some fresh berries in parfait form or mixed all together. Or Quaker Instant ORIGINAL (flavors have too much sugars) oatmeal with half a scoop of vanilla whey protein powder and 1/4 cup of natural unsweetened applesauce. It is yummy! Or how about a…
  • Thank you for your encouragement. I am only just under three weeks in on my journey. So I haven't measured. But my pants/shirts don't seem to be fitting different yet. I will press on as being healthy is my number one priority. I just have never seen this happen in all my times of losing weight.
  • I am with you as well. My Partner and I are getting married in September! So I have less than 8 months to drop some weight. Be realistic with your goals and use the wedding as your motivator and you will do great! And there is nothing wrong with wanting to look good and being healthy at the same time! Add me if you would…
  • Is there anyway you can get up earlier and work out? Working out first thing in the morning after a glass of water but before eating has been said to be most effective. But working out anytime is better than not at all. I am with you. I can't work out at night or I will be up all night. Melatonin? Not sure you want to rely…
  • Feel free to add me as well. We are all on this journey together!
  • Not in the crockpot. I use it for pasta sauce or healthy flatbread pizzas. Even meatloaf. But not sure about a crockpot dish.
  • In the past I have had no problem losing 20-30 pounds rather quickly. It is the weight after that which is toughest but mainly because I don't stick with it. Thanks for the advice!
  • Last year I lost 27 pounds in 3 months just by keeping track of everything and exercising between the Wii, the elliptical trainer and walking the dogs. I have heard 2 pounds a week is a good weight loss pace. I am hoping to get below the 200 pound mark by the wedding. More would be a bonus. Thanks for your advise and…
  • I am not a big drinker to begin with but used to like to have a glass of wine with a meal or maybe some fruity drinks on the weekend. Since starting back here 8 days ago, I have on had one alcoholic drink and it was on my cheat day. I allow 1 cheat day a week and have been very successful that way previously in my weight…
  • I am happy to find someone else here in a similar boat as me. I did MFP last summer and lost 27 pounds! Sadly I lost my Grandpa to Cancer and went through a break up after 5 years and I let life get the best of me. I gained pretty much all my weight back. My profile reflects 10 pounds lost right now and I am on day 8 of a…
  • That is an awesome smoothie!
  • I fell off for 2 1/2 months. Today is my first day back. I gained back about 8 pounds of the 23 I lost. So don't do it! Don't all off. It is not worth it. You can do it...press through. I wish I had. But today is a new day and I am starting again. Add me if you like for support. :)
  • Ok...can you taste the spinach? Because I am not a big fan. lol!
  • Thanks everyone! I am going to try all of these I am sure and any others that come along. :) And I will look up that book! :)
  • Sounds great. Just wondering about the sodium. I am a huge hot sauce fan and have had trouble finding one with lower sodium. Buffalo chicken is my favorite! :)
  • Sounds yummy. What is the calorie/fat/sugar count on this? I would love to try it!
  • Thanks everyone! I am still really stressed and struggling but trying to take it one day at a time. :)
  • I am not sure what your meal plan looks like but I have 6 meals a day. So I am eating roughly every 2 1/2-3 hours. 3 Main meals and 3 healthy snacks. I haven't struggled with boredom eating since starting this way. Basically I am eating breakfast around 7AM, a snack around 10AM, lunch around 12:30pm, afternoon snack around…
  • Welcome back! :)
  • I do the 5-6 meals a day thing. Plus I drink 8-10 8oz glasses of water a day. Usually 4 16 oz bottles of water which gives me 64 oz for the day. The water helps me feel fuller. I eat my regular breakfast, lunch and dinner and I have a mid morning, mid-day and evening snack to help. These are made up usually of fruit,…
  • Honestly, I don't try to cut my calories short. I plan meals and snacks and that is where they end up. I have a tough time eating the snacks at times...especially the evening snack...because I don't feel hungry. I never drank more than a glass of water a day before. I started at 260 pounds. So losing that much in 2 weeks…
  • Everyone here is one big team of support! And we will all celebrate successes together. Keep up the good work. And the four of us will have to celebrate our health when we reach our goals! :)
