Hi! I’m turning 40 in November and have a goal to lose 10 pounds by then. I’d love some friends to help motivate me!

I am 5'3" and about 141. My goal weight is 120, though I am happy with a little more or a little less than that, as well as I am healthy and fit. I do need to figure out what the best way to calculate body fat percentage is. Does anyone know of a site where I can do that? I suppose Google will help. ;-) Friend me, I need…

I am 5'3" and my goal weight is 120. BTW, I need some "shorty" friends, so please send friend requests!

Hey there, I'm Kelly, 33 years old. I am a mom of six kids and though my body has held up well, my metabolism has slowed significantly and I'd liked to lose about 20 lbs. I have no support or help or guidance towards healthy living, working out, eating right, and getting fit in real life, so I do hope that I am able to…

I am on Day 5 of Level 1 of the 30DS. I am using MFP to keep to the 1200 recommended calories
-
Welcome! MFP is such a great place to help you in your weight loss journey. Good luck!
-
Great job on the exercise. It is pretty amazing how much tracking the calories gets the job done. Good luck!
-
That is just amazing! What a difference with just 22 lbs. Great job!

Day 4 of Level 1 done this morning! The soreness is practically gone and my endurance during cardio was so much improved. I still suck at pushups but I could do 10 easy pushups this morning. Yesterday I could only do 5. The side lunges with arm raises? I hate those! I am so dreading level 2 with the planks. I HATE planks.…

Finished L1D4 this morning. The soreness has all but gone away, my endurance during the cardio is much improved, and I could do 10 easy pushups in a row as opposed to the five I could do yesterday. The side lunges with arm raises are killer for me and I am not enjoying the workout, but then again, I am not supposed to…

Wow! You are amazing! Great job, I am so impressed. Now I am even more inspired to keep up the hard work of counting calories and working out. It will feel so good to be able to wear smaller sizes!
-
I am on Day 3 as well and the soreness is kicking my butt! 27 more days to go makes me want to cry. . . However, I know how good I will feel after I finish!

I'm 5'3", currently 143. I am a very petite build and felt my best at my "normal" weight: 110lbs. So 110 is what I am shooting for. Not shooting for any jean size because this is not about looks for me but getting back to my healthy weight. Currently a size 10 in jeans, though. ETA: even though my goal is to get back to…

Welcome! This weight loss/health journey is hard but it sure is so worth it when you realize how much better you feel. I am a mom, too, and had great results using MFP and C25K earlier this year. Totally fell off that wagon when I went on vacation in June and am now to start again, losing AGAIN those pounds I lost plus…

I do early morning so that I know it'll get done and I won't have time to make excuses for it later in the day. Plus, I have so much energy in the day if I exercise early. I do not eat before exercising, though that is different for everyone. Watch your body, it will tell you if you need to eat beforehand.

Welcome!

I, too, am starting over! You are right, the motivation is key for many of us as we work towards a healthier body. I'll add you!
-
Hey there! I did C25K earlier this year and I was very out of shape. The program helped me immensely and now I am planning on running some races in January! Good luck to you!
-
This journey is not easy but so very rewarding. One of the benefits I found when I did MFP before was that I had enormous amounts of energy (I am a mom too so I understand needing all the energy one can get!) Good luck to you!

Welcome!
-
Proving people wrong is sometimes the best motivator! :-) Good for you and welcome!
-
Same here! Feel free to add me. I know how important it is to have encouragement.
-
Thank you for that encouragement. I am going to measure this time around (I did not, last time) and hopefully that will help spur me on, too. I am having a hard time finding directions on how to take the proper measurements, but I will find it in the land of Google, for sure. :-) I will add you as my friend, if you don't…

I'm in, too! Did the first day today.
-
You have done a great job. I can see the difference. Keep up the good work!
-
Wow, you sure can tell a difference! Way to go!
-
Thank you so very much, everyone! I am going to write these down. I need to get better food in the house and the processed junk out!
-
The thing that helps me most is housework! I know it sounds trite, but whenever I feel the urge to eat, I go do laundry or mopping or whatnot. Getting off my rear and getting busy helps keep my mind off of food and at the same time I am getting the added benefit of losing calories as I work. Win/win!

Thanks, Myndee! I don't plan on getting a HRM at this point yet, either. (Hopefully SOON though!) I was hoping someone would have some kind of answer for me and you did. Thanks so much!
