What works for me is finding foods I like and just sticking with those! I definitely use the micro counter in MFP. Interesting what qweck3 wrote about losing too much lean mass with high fat to protein ratio, I'll definitely watch for that! Also, I buy the best quality meats I can afford. So, bacon has no nitrates and…

Not sure what you mean by low kidney function. (Sorry to be thick.) Do you mean not much pee? I don't have any kind of problem with that at all. Just the opposite! I do need to eat plenty of salt. (Always have, though, as I have low blood pressure and I regulate it with plenty of salt.) I am *Loving* keto! Yes, I have…

Yay for coming back! I totally love how keto helped me kick my sugar cravings to the curb. My hunger is SO in control on keto!

Interesting point about the gum, rsclause! I'm so over gum now. Glad stevia still works for me, though.

Hey, great idea on the riced veggie mixes! Bet I can get those at our local Trader Joe's. Thanks for the tip.

Hey Keto buddies, I was listening to Dr Jason Fung, who wrote "The Obesity Code" and some book about fasting and he mentions magnesium on a keto diet. Interesting thing, he actually recommends putting Epsom salts in a bath and soaking in magnesium. He says when we take it orally, it pretty much goes through us. I'll have…

Hi there, Ladies. I just started IF at beginning of July. I'd cut way back on processed foods about a month before that and found it surprisingly easy because no driving hunger to Eat. Right. Now. I broke my foot in May and had surgery in June, told husband my goal is don't gain weight! Funny thing is, I've dropped 10 lbs…

Hi Keto Buddies, I'm in too! I've been kind of playing at keto for the last month. Lost about 4# in about 3 weeks, from cutting out processed carbs. Just starting today, I changed MFP to help me track macros. Had a real hard time getting enough calories because by end of dinner, all I could do is pretty much drink olive…

Hi Ladies, Happy to be on this journey with you all! Feel free to friend me! I'm just under 5'6" or about 166cm. HW: 141.6# (That would be today) GW: 125 - 128# (That's the ultimate goal. Not sure what the goal is in Feb. Pretty much whatever comes about from doing the behaviors listed below in goals for Feb.) My…

Asked myself What's different this time? What's your why? Answer: I want to get live light and healthfully for: 1. Comfort -- every night when my head hits the pillow, every morning when I wake up, every time I walk out of a movie theater or restaurant I want to feel comfortable, physically and emothionally. 2. Vanity.…

Interesting thread, thanks for asking the question! Been doing MFP for 35 days. Haven't taken measurements since starting, but for me, it comes off in the reverse order that it came on. So, the last place I tend to gain is upper abs, that has gone down, then sides of abs. Weird, right?! Still got the post menopausal pooch.…

As soon as I get home from this biz trip I'm going to start weighing at home. In the am. Before shower. After potty. Nothing on but a smile, and my glasses to read the numbers.

First, congrats on being in school and close to grad! That's quite an accomplishment! I echo what the others have said about making meals super simple! I tend to eat the same things over and over. Right now, I'm on a whole wheat pita and sliced turkey with mustard kick. I always have fruit on hand and bunch of ready to go…

Saturday night, DH and I out to dinner with our best friends at our neighborhood pub. They all had beers, I had iced tea. (Won't pat myself on the back too much as I never cultivated a taste for beer!) Normally, might have had a glass of wine. Next we went to a club to listen to music, husbands went to get us drinks.…

Hi stainbackzoo, I hear you. In the past weekends have been a real struggle for me! I've only been on MFP for 29 days, so not pretending to have this conquered yet. But here's what working for me so far. When I decided to embark, yet again in this journey of stopping binge eating and getting into shape, I had to ask myself…

Never a big drinker, but was becoming more regular than I care to. Have been abstaining since regular logging just over 3 weeks ago. Easy so far. Will be challenged a few times when visiting dear friend and going out with local girlfriends. But for me 100% abstaining is easier than 99%. So, count me in for 100% sober Sept!

New here, and excited to join you and this inspiring group! I noticed that walking counts, yes? If so, yay! Used to run marathons, now, I'm switching to walking. No need for a long story, it just works for me at this time. Also, I've been away from mfp for quite a while and would be happy to be friends! Happy to…
