  • I got back from a 6 day vacation on Saturday. When I got home and stepped on the scale, it said I gained 9.5 lbs (which is a lot on a very small frame). However, after 2-3 days of eating normally, I am back down to 1-2lbs from my original weight. Don't worry, most of it is probably sodium and water retention, not actual…
  • You have got to be kidding me! I saw that you wrote it too. Something along the lines of "so do fat clowns, you fit the part." I wasn't going to say anything but the fact you criticized others for making fun of your body, then call someone fat, quickly delete it and then deny it is ridiculous. Ugh so repulsive!
  • Wow, people are being so mean for no reason. Who cares how somebody writes or spells? Just ignore it if you don't like it. Anyway OP, I peel the fruit then weigh it. Nobody eats banana peels, they eat the fruit so the calorie count is for the fruit inside.
  • I went on a 5,000 calorie binge last week and felt horrible. I seriously considered restricting my calories drastically for the next few days to make up for it, but I decided I would instead just move on and resume eating normally the next day. I really tried to not let what I did get to me. After a week, I look and feel…
  • I've used Greek yogurt, honey dijon mustard or mashed avocado. Miracle whip lite is only 20cal/T if you prefer the taste of mayo.
  • You look like Katie Holmes!
  • I eat like a normal person (meaning the occasional junk in addition to a well balanced diet), do not take any supplements or vitamins, rarely get enough physical activity and I NEVER get sick. Honestly, I do wash my hands a lot, but even when I was younger and didn't wash my hands as well, I rarely got sick. I think…
  • You do realize some people are trying to help you, since you expressed concern about getting enough calcium while pregnant, right? You don't have to be such a witch about it. Geez.
  • I would imagine that much alcohol is doing damage to your liver. Who cares about calories? You'll wish you'd cut back when your liver is failing.
  • I go through spells where I am extremely thirsty and not satiated when drinking water. I can sometimes drink up to 5L a day, and still chug water like crazy. I went to the doctor, and there's nothing wrong. Your body may just be dehydrated. However, I would suggest you see your doctor to get your blood sugar and labs…
  • I measure everything with a food scale or measuring cups. The food scale is way more accurate and you end up eating a lot more than a serving if you only go by measuring cups. I can't imagine how much I'd overestimate if I eyeballed it.
  • I love Mcalisters! I always get the pick two veggie chili. Sometimes I'll get the 1/2 veggie club (no cheese or dressing; I like to add red wine vinegar to mine) or the 1/2 veggie spud, which is amazing! I think these meals usually range from 400-700, depending on if you get cheese, crackers etc. Also, I usually eat my…
  • Are you in the medical field? I don't think your argument is accurate because there is real research (NIH research and immunology research, not some bogus nutrition website research) that supports the theory I described. If you read in immunology journals or medical journals like JAMA and NEJM, you will also find the…
  • As far as allergies (to foods, medications, bee stings, what have you) go, developed countries have a much higher incidence than underdeveloped countries. The theory is that people in other countries are exposed to a lot of agents that we are not exposed to. Many parasites, bacteria and other microorganisms are commonly…
  • @ RavenKellie Actually, we are born with the enzyme lactase so that we can break down and utilize our mother's milk which contains lactose. As we age, this enzyme decreases in number and efficiency. Some people make no more lactase, hence the intolerance. Milk is not something that our bodies were made to drink past…
  • God, it cracks me up how everyone on this site thinks they're a world renowned expert in nutrition, biochemistry and physiology. Each person is made differently, so there is no right or wrong "answer" here.
  • I'm a broke medical student and this summer I had no shorts that fit me. I went to a second hand store (Plato's Closet) and got all kinds of stuff for so cheap! I got J. Crew khaki shorts for $8, for example. Shop around thrift stores for your clothes during your weight loss process. Then you can sell your old clothes to…
  • You look so good! And 10 years younger. Congratulations on your weight loss so far!
  • I don't really want to lose weight per se. I do want to lose the pudge on my belly though! I just started a vegan diet yesterday because I want to start eating more clean and rid my body of so many chemicals.
