  • I can offer some advice that I was given.. The scale is not your BFF!! It's totally your enemy until your body gets used to all the new things you are doing to it. Not to say your body is not happy with you, it just takes some getting used to :) It is also true that one bad day of sodium can easily make it seem as though…
  • I'm so sorry about your medical issue! That sounds so painful! I totally understand why is it hard to do any sort of cardio, which is generally attributed to weight loss. Have you looked into Yoga? I do yoga on a daily basis and there are tons of moves you can do where you are off your feet. It gets your body moving and…
  • What are you doing when you exercise? It's not good that you are in such pain. It could be that you are gaining muscle before you are losing fat, which would account for the weight gain. I looked at your diary as well. Remember that calories are not the most important thing. What is in the calories is the most important.…
  • The medicine balls come in a lot of different weights, my gym has them from 2lbs to 15lbs...maybe more. I use them when I am doing my ab work. I hold the medicine ball while I am coming up and going down. It adds a lot to your workout calorie-wise and muscle-wise :)

  • I'm not sure how accurate HRM are because I have never used one, but I do know that circuit training, if done correctly burns a lot of calories. So, depending on what you were doing and if you were doing it correctly it may be accurate. I burn about 400 calories in 1/2 hour just doing cardio...so add the circuit part and…
  • Thank you everyone! I guess it's hard to exactly determine, but I at least can get a rough estimate now :)
  • I have never used one before, I will have to look into that. Thanks!
  • I think if you are just getting started on a diet or lifestyle change it takes your body a while to adjust to something new. Don't worry just keep it up and your brain will learn! I also heard that peppermint is good for curbing hunger. You might just be feeling hungry, but you're not actually hungry so it might help. Good…
  • Thanks everyone! I checked out the gym around 7PM and it was just starting to wind down so that works for now :)
  • Trainguy917 - I was hoping it was the New Years Resolution Rush and they would all go away like they normally do. It sounds like you have some people that need to make your gyms more crowded! Kao708 - That's a great idea, when I go tomorrow I'll ask the people at the front desk what they notice. I didn't think about it,…
  • Hi! I am new to this site as well. My main goal is not so much to lose weight, but to get to the gym more often and be more aware of the healthy lifestyle that I want and to take care of myself more. It's hard to go to the gym as much as I want because I am in classes all day and by the time I would get to the gym it would…
