(I posted this a couple of days ago but figured it fit well with this thread) These are PUMPKIN MUFFINS....they are EXTREMELY moist and delicious!! Next time I make them, I am going to sprinkle the top with pecans and pumpkin seeds. I ended up freezing half the recipe so I will have them last longer. So far they have been…

Bump!!!! Just got my crockpot out since fall is just about here!

as long as it fits into your daily nutritional allowances...I say enjoy all the coffee you want. It is about a lifestyle change....you HAVE to be able to enjoy what you're eating in order for this whole thing to work. I still enjoy the things I love....just make sure it fits in my daily allowances (even ice cream!)

Betteroats Oat fit is really good and has no sugar. It has a subtle taste to it...might help ease you into it. I really enjoy it.

You look awesome!!! I think you look younger and better now than you did then (not even factoring the hair in! haha) Awesome job!!

Hi! I am only 23 and I found out in May that my cholesterol is extremely high as well...no meds yet (and hopefully never), but working with a personal trainer and a dietician. I actually go get it checked out again this week. I have history of heart disease and high cholesterol in my family...but I am hoping that diet and…

It is super hard!! So much time spent on planning healthy meals, cooking, and working out. Last year I was able to lose 20 pounds over the summer...and I got out of my good habits come fall. Thank goodness I only gained 8 pounds back. This fall I am setting myself up for success. I am scheduled to work with a personal…

I bought raisins today to try and tweak the recipe for oatmeal raisin cookies. I'll let you all know how it works out!!

I felt the same way. I then started to look for recipes to make for lunch and dinner. skinnytaste.com is an EXCELLENT website. Make double the recipe and you will have lunch or dinners for additional nights. I make extra and freeze portions...so easy! I also just found chocolatecoveredkatie.com, eatingwell.com, and…

Yeah...he suggested more complex carbs (whole wheat pasta, brown rice, whole grain bread, oatmeal) and protein...I have already been doing a great job consuming fruits and veggies....but he said I need more substance.

Great!!! Did you mix the honey in the batter? or add it when they were cooked?
-
Super good! I just made a bunch and will be sticking them in the freezer. If you freeze...just make sure to put wax paper in between them!

Grad student and I also work for a university...hence I am on campus ALL the time!! Friend me for support...come fall it is so hard to keep it up!

Kashi Go Lean Honey Almond Flax, Multi-Grain Cheerios, or Regular Cheerios....I could eat cereal for every meal!
-
I feel like it is just moderation...I do not necessarily cut out carbs...fat...sugar...etc...I just monitor my intake. I could never have a lifestyle I enjoy if I was not able to enjoy the foods I love. I try to make healthier options (low fat...whole grains...etc.) but do not sacrifice taste or not allow myself to enjoy…

opted for some greek yogurt with a small amount of fiber one cereal mixed in...and I'm full!

Well, I work out with a personal trainer 3 days a week. We go through a lot of strength training those days (we do circuit training incorporating strength and cardio). But...I have also been running on the days that I see the trainer. I am probably over-doing it!:ohwell:

Hmm...good to know! I am trying to train for a 5k that is happening in October. It will be hard to not go everyday (it has become very addicting), but I will try it!

Good info! I am trying to find several ways to cut the food bill. I am looking to making a lot of a meal and freezing it into portions for lunches and future dinners since it is just myself and my fiance. I'd rather spend my money on new clothes than food! haha!
-
I have heard of that...but could you explain what that means? Also, if I go to a running store to get assessed...is it $$? I am new to running so I feel kinda lost with this stuff! Thanks!

I have decided to train for a 5K that is coming up in October! I figured this would help keep me on track and give me something to strive for. Last night I was able to run 3 miles without stopping (this is a first for me!!). I was very excited! This morning, I ran 2 miles (I will be working with my trainer later and did…

for sure bring your own! the popcorn at the movie theaters is popped in so much oil (even if you do not get the butter topping, it is a lot). If you have some, a little would be fine (I think everyone deserves a treat) but if you really want to watch what you eat that day, bring your own. I also bring a pack of Emerald's…

I think so, on average about 12-14 cups a day.
