Well it isn't necessary. But it helps lose weight, keeps you healthy and makes you fitter and stronger. On that basis I would say do it.

I always do cardio whether I'm losing or gaining to maintain aerobic conditioning. I do tend to up it if I want lose weight, and then cut calories slowly.
-
Yes I do, however my goal is to lose very slowly while gaining strength, and I also burn quite a lot through cardio so not eating any back would leave me in a huge deficit.

The general idea is that after a while of low carbs and training, extra carbs will replenish glycogen. Simply having an "all you can eat" day is a great way to stagnate. If you have earned it, then a few hundred grams of carbs should be ok. The more muscle you carry, the more glycogen you can store and therefore the more…

140kg Deadlift

I like to spend 10-15 mins of alternating calisthenics (jumping jacks, etc), stretches and short bursts on the heavy bag, escalating in intensity until I feel I can go full out on the punch bag for 30-60s. Take five minutes to calm down, grab a drink and do some more stretches. Then I do warm up sets for each lift.

Coffee, or if you're feeling adventurous, caffeine powder. I like 150-200mg in a shot of water. Tastes vile, gets you going. I don't think anything else legal works tbh it's all marketing hype.
-
Pretty much impossible to say. The amount of calories burnt lifting is fairly small as you rest a lot, but I'm sure plenty more calories are used to build strength and muscle after the workout. I just use the strength training entry on here.

Yes. I never really liked running either, although I did like the feeling of accomplishment running my first mile and so on. After my first 5k I kind of lost interest and went back to just lifting weights, and if I do cardio it's usually heavy bag. Recently I've kind of felt like taking it up again although I'll probably…

Should be up to the individual establishment.

A squat rack and barbell are great if you have the space. Otherwise a pull up bar and adjustable dumbbells will get the job done.
-
YES. In general I find if I make the list, it's an effort to get the first thing done then I will breeze through the rest of the list. Also for eating, I often find myself logging later meals and this keeps me disciplined as far as diet goes. I always thought I was weird, didn't realise it was so popular.

That is cooked weight. I hate it when they give cooked weight, who the hells weighs their pasta after cooking it? Also I think Morrisons are lying because they claim their pasta has only 250kcal/100g dry.

132.5kg deadlift... tantalisingly close to three plates.

Breakfast - 2 fried eggs on toast with butter Post workout/lunch - pasta with salami and olives Dinner - meatballs in tomato sauce Supper - Spanish omelette Seems a lot but last 2 are actually quite low in calories for how satiating they are.

In my experience it's the other way, everybody wants to get big, nobody really cares how strong they are (except bench). Anyway you can get stronger without building muscle by improving how your nervous system fires your muscles. Also it's highly debated but I don't think strictly true you can't build muscle in a deficit,…

The battle starts at the grocery store. Buy more healthy foods and less junk, and you are already on your way. Then find some type of exercise you enjoy, and do it 2-3 times a week. For me it was weightlifting.

I never really thought of myself as being that fat even though I was around 250lbs. I started exercising because I was weak, and it was embarrassing for someone my size to struggle carrying things my smaller friends had no problem with. As I started weight training the fat came flying off, and I thought I might as well go…

Get on a basic barbell routine like starting strength and eat around maintenance, you should see good gains due to your previous weightlifting experience.
-
I was like this for several years and when I did finally go to the doctor I was so glad I decided to do something about it. Was more anxiety than depression but I can understand how he feels. I was also guilty of the always waiting for someone to call me thing. Personally I would leave him a little while and if you like…

That chicken in a can looks like one of the head crab aliens from the game Half Life.

Apologies, that part didn't register properly. I would still just not worry about it, as TDEE isn't exact you will never be exactly at maintenance anyway and if you are happy with how you are, no need to change anything. Theoretically you would gain weight over time, so I would just start eating a little under if you…
-
The first one. And no you won't gain, so long as you don't keep cheating and your target is under your TDEE.
-
No. Surely you can find some time to train on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday. It's not like the workouts take that long. If you can't I would suggest picking another program.

Sausage and beans.

All this study "proves" is that 95% of people are weak. Anyway, tip from me - lift weights, then if you do gain the weight back it will be in more favourable proportions

Unless it's something starchy I don't even log them, obviously first thing to consider if I was to stall.

I heard it was a form of intermittent fasting. You only eat twice. I'll grab my coat...

That is how it feels, I sometimes get sick of eating, whole milk is a good way to make up the calories. I would still advise training legs as your body likes to grow in balance, plus squats and deadlifts are good for the core and back as well as legs.
