Big congratulations to you Brandon! I hope you continue to share your successes with us here.

It's totally normal to think about exes. I think about my exes (at least the ones with whom I had longer relationships of years) and my wife thinks about hers too. Sometimes we share stories about them, both happy and sad. Neither of us long to be with anyone but each other, but we respect that we each have a history of…

Hi! I started at 433 and, while not all fat folk have the same body experience, I found that the following have worked well for me: - weight lifting - pool aerobics (jumping jacks, bouncing all over the place, water weights, ab crunches, etc.) - seated cross training machine like NuStep or SciFit - seated cardio - modified…

I love this website: http://www.5dollardinners.com/ Some of the meals I can substitute healthier options if they're a little heavy, but it keeps me on budget.

Frank - you are one of my heros. Congratulations on meeting your goals!

We just got a Veggetti and I love it! Putting turkey chili on top of zuke noodles tonight.

I listen to music. Mostly my playlists are songs that make me feel like a bad *kitten* and music from my glory days of college and dancing at gay bars, where the best dance music lives.

Fantastic! I know it's just a typo but reading "scare" instead of "scale" cracked me up. Some days it is! :)

I use lemon/lime juice or different vinegars if I'm avoiding salt.

I'm afraid of losing the armor that my fat gives me. I will feel visible and vulnerable without it. I guess I should say that I'm afraid I won't have completed the emotional work in time to catch up with the physical work and I will be distressed and stall my progress.

I do a mini bagel with a morningstar farms veggie sausage patty, fridge oatmeal with fruit and honey (especially in the summer and I eat it cold), really seasoned savory grits (not instant) with a little cheese, egg "muffins" made on the weekend and frozen, ham slices wrapped around long strips of cucumber and dipped into…

We do fish tacos or pick up a rotisserie chicken from costco and make wraps/salads on the nights we don't want to cook. My fish tacos go something like this: Frozen, non-breaded fish fillets that are already seasoned (or season your own) Small flour or corn tortillas Shredded cabbage (I buy coleslaw mix for extra laziness)…

I need fat and filler in combination. Cheese, yogurt, nuts, butter, etc. in small amounts coupled with more high fiber foods like fruits with skins, beans...things like hummus combine the two well, and depending on my blood sugar I will eat either wheat crackers or veggies with it. If I skimp, I get hungry. And then I eat…

(I'm going to use the pronoun ze instead of he or she in my response, as I don't know your partner's preference at this time.) This is such a hard situation. I would be as honest with your partner as possible without making it sound almost like an ultimatum - which is exactly what you're *not* trying to do! Someone I was…

I think this article is helpful and disproves the idea of the "fat burning zone" pretty handily: http://www.builtlean.com/2013/04/01/fat-burning-zone-myth/ In terms of time, studies have shown that the first 30-40 minutes have the most impact. Anything over that and you're really not seeing much more of a benefit in terms…

I am feeling everything you're saying! Interesting to read the responses, too.

You could try the lower number, and if it's too restrictive at first try the original number and see if you're still losing weight. Give it a week or two. Hormones can definitely have an impact on how our bodies use/store energy so it may be a bit of trial and error. Also, congratulations! :)

If you're looking for a salty punch, it's been asserted that lime juice (maybe also lemon, but lime works best for me) sets off the same receptors in our taste buds that salt does, so you might try adding lime juice to marinades or sauces to punch them up a little.
