This! ^ I find logging my days foods early really helps as well, and lets me know ahead of time what I can eat that still keeps me on plan. That way you can play with the numbers too, maybe you really want that special treat, this allows you to incorporate it into your diet without compromising your numbers at the end of…

I tried Jenny Craig years ago which is a similar idea. I lost weight sure, but they don't teach you how to maintain that loss so the weight came back. I've lost over 100 pounds now just by eating sensibly and exercising, and know I will keep it off because I've made the changes in my life I need to in order to sustain it..…

Ohhh both sound amazing! I've been trying to decide where to go this year too, going to keep watch on this thread for suggestions! :)

My goto dinner is chicken with either a salad or other type of veggie on the side..

My 21 year old niece came up behind me on Thanksgiving while I was helping make dinner, put her hands on my hips, and said, "Auntie, you're tiny!!" I laughed, said "Not tiny, but thank you!" :) Made me feel really good, I've lost over 100 pounds, so I guess seem "tiny" to some, even though I have a ways to go yet.. :)

Haha I'm on your friends list and LOVE The Princess Bride!! :) "Inconceivable!" "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." ;)

Hi Dave, I think sometimes our SO's feel threatened when we start to improve ourselves, I know it was that way with my ex. He had me, didn't want anyone else to look at me, so it was better to keep me heavy. I think we just have to stand up for ourselves and say, hey, this is my health and I'm doing it for me. They either…

Hi there, and welcome to MFP! It sounds like you've got things off to a great start! I was pleased to see you'd committed to P90X3, I recently started the 90 day challenge as well. Tomorrow is officially Day 7, although I did some of the workouts before the challenge group actually started to see what I was in for.. I log…

Hi Dave, Welcome to MFP! Congrats on your weight loss so far, and starting Focus T25.. I recently started P90X3, very excited and loving the workouts, and would love to help support you here! :)

Me too.. Love it though! :)

These are all great tips! I am down over 100 pounds in a year and a half, and one thing I want to stress is not to get too hung up on the number on the scale. It doesn't define you. Take measurements, photos. The scale will keep you partly accountable, but there will be times the darn thing doesn't move and the inches do.…

I've been where you are too! It took me a year and a half to lose over 100 pounds, and I still have about 40 left to go.. I have a couple pieces of advice that I've learned over that time. Always log everything, it's easy to go over your calories when you don't. Drink tons of water! And just as important, take…

Hi Adrienne and welcome to MFP! I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your baby, that's so horrible. I've been here a few months, and would love to help motivate you on your journey. My story is on my profile page. :) Sending you a friend request.

Welcome to MFP! That's awesome to hear about your recovery, as well as your improvement in running! I've been with MFP for a couple months now, and find it really helps to keep me accountable by logging what I eat. I may not always make the best choices, but as long as I'm honest with myself, I know I'll be okay. The rest…

I usually weigh naked in the morning before I eat anything. I try to wear similar clothes to the doctor, and they always have me remove my coat and shoes, and if they don't ask, I just do it before I get on the scale. Anything you put into your body, water, food etc. will also make a big difference, so keep that in mind,…

I think inches are the most important, although I do use the scale too to keep me on the right track. I just don't panic if it goes up and down a little, especially when I know I'm doing things the right way. I hadn't lost actual scale weight in a few months, but by tracking my inches I know they have gone down…

Welcome to MFP! I shared a similar issue at age 40.. I used to walk with a cane after a car accident and knee surgery, and an excess of about 140 pounds! I've since lost over 100 pounds, and I'd love to help keep you motivated and offer what advice and support I can! Friend request sent. :)
