Thank you so much for this thread and everyone's comments! It's about 4:15 in the morning here on my surgery day & I was having a case of the "what-if's" especially about freedoms.

Hi there :) Im also pre-op (getting sleeved next Wednesday) and I just wanted to say about question 3 that where I live, I have found a wonderful group of ladies, both pre and post op, that get together once a month for a small discussion, support and a clothing swap. Dealing with rapidly changing sizes is a challenge for…

Hi there. :) I completely understand the panic! I'll admit that the night before my pre-op diet, I caved and had a cupcake (Im not normally a sweet fan, but it was there :\ ) I'm on day 3 of my 2 week pre-op liquids today and at this point, I'm still having thoughts about certain foods, so what I'm doing is trying to keep…

Hi there! I think thats a great idea for accountability. :) I'm sorta right behind you as I'm starting my 2 week pre-op liquid diet on Jan 27th.
-
Thanks Rob! I knew there was more to say, but since I'm just waking up, I couldn't quite articulate. :D

Good morning Dreama! I'm Allison. I think the best place to start is to read through the various discussion threads in the group. There is a lot of great posts from all over to read from people in different points in their journey. :)

Hi there! :) Im scheduled for surgery on Feb 11th. And of course like a lot of things, this last little bit of time before seems to be crawling by. lol :D

Hi there! I'm 37 days away from my surgery, so all I can offer is good thoughts. I think it's wonderful that you're down that much and that you have decided to get "back to basics" :)

I figured I had better post something so that MFP doesnt remove this group. I am still hoping that eventually others will join in and share. When I checked the mail yesterday, there was an info package from the pre-op clinic of the hospital. All standard stuff. I am a bit concerned that they are requesting a chest X-ray. I…

Welcome! I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said. There is such good info available in the forums and every morning I check for new posts to read. I'm Allison. I'm up in Canada and I am still pre-op.(scheduled for Feb 11th) :)
-
I hope everything goes well for you! B)
-
Thats awesome! You look great. :)

I completely understand the whole "well, in for a dime, in for a dollar. I'll start being good AFTER :p " thing. I'm still in the very early stages of my journey here, so I will have to come back later and see what kind of responses you get. Interesting stuff!

Welcome! :) I'm Allison. I live up in Canada. My sleeve is scheduled for Feb 11th. This is an awesome group and you will find lots of interesting things to read in the various discussion threads. Best of luck with your upcoming surgery!

Welcome :)

Thats so good to hear! B) Its funny you mention sleep on your side. I almost always sleep on one side or the other and have been trying to fall asleep on my back (My thinking was that, at least for the first little while, I would HAVE to sleep that way). I havent been too successful with it yet thoughé :D

Hi there, its good to see you. Congrats on getting through surgery. :) I havent been posting much either. I've kinda run out of things to say, really.

The weather is getting much colder here in Calgary but I'm determined to stay active. There is 4 flights of stairs in my building so I will see how many flights I can do in 15 minutes, then try and build on that. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them. :)

well, some good news today has really lit a fire under me as the saying goes. I dont want to jinx it by saying what it was but knowing how unmotivated Ive been lately Im so happy. :)
-
Well, I figure I better post something so MFP doesnt disable this group for inactivity. I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving weekend. :)
-
posting again so that MFP doesnt delete this group.

Just checking in, I hope everyone who reads this is doing well. The weather here in Calgary is beautiful, even with that freak snowstorm a couple weeks ago. It isnt unheard of for snow to fall in September here, but it is uncommon. Lots of broken trees in the city & the clean-up still continues even now.

Oh wow! That is very good news! Im happy for you that you're getting the type of surgery you feel most comfortable with. :drinker:
