This post reminds me so much of myself when I first joined mfp. I woudn't eat any veggies except carrots - and only when mashed with butter. I eventually (and it has taken a long time) found a few veggies I enjoyed, but I still avoid anything green as a rule. This happened due to other people cooking for me when I shared…

Peppers, I can't get enough of them. Eat a lot more onions now too. And veggie burgers. I would have never have touched meat-free products a year ago but they taste really good, with hardly any of the calories and fat that you get with regular burgers.

A few years ago I was hospitalised due to crohn's disease and my weight dropped from 112 pounds to 62 pounds. I could see almost every single bone on my body incuding my ribs, hips and spine. Yet I still retained a proper pot belly. And it wasn't hard or bloated, it still looked like fat. I have never ever been able to…

Bump. Started at 132lbs currently 122 aiming for 110. I'm 4'11"

Getting callipers done is on my to do list eventually but until then i'm just going off estimateds 45% seems fairly accurate though, I am very wobbly all over. :/

want to up my calories I've not seen any evidence yet that tells me I should :/ Maybe with my statistics you guys can see something i'm obviousy missing? x Great thread btw, but you can see how it can frustrate some of us newbies.

I used one of the calculators posted on the front page. It figured out that at 4'11" and 127lbs with a waist of 35 inches gives me 45.7% body fat. And being 23 and a female the calculator worked out for me using mccardle formula that I have a bmr of 1067 and a TDEE of 1256. Which is the same as what mfp worked out for me.…

Hi again, My stats are 4'11" and I weigh 127lbs trying to get to 106, 112 if toned. I'm mostly sedentary (sp?) but try to work out 3 days a week buring 300 cals (according to gym machines) So I would very much welcome evidence that 1067 is too low for my bmr! :)

Just been on the fat to fit radio site to see how many calories it suggested I eat. It came back with the figure of 2106 which seems extremely high. And it worked this out via my bmr. Thats all well and good however one method (harris-benedict) had my bmr at 1847 whereas (katch-mccardle) only has me at 1067 which is what…

I eat around 900 net per day because I read on here a while ago that short people shouldn't eat a lot as we don't burn as much. (I'm 4'11"). MFP has 1150 cals a day at 0.8lb a week weightloss for me. It was hard to stick to at first but i'm slowly adjusting. However I don't want to adjust to such a low figure if I could…

Hi there, I'm 23 and 4'11" dead on and currently weighing in at 129. I'd like to get down to 106, although i'd be happy at 112 if I manage to keep hold of my curves, and gain some muscle. Currently at size 12/14 and would love to be 8/10 :)

Bump, so glad to have found a short people thread. I'm 4'11" and 130 pounds. Its getting really frustrating when mfp keeps telling me i'm not eating enough calories when I feel like 1150 is about right for my height. Lost 10 pounds with mfp last year then gained a lot, now struggling to lose again. Been back 2 weeks and…

I agree that mfp has set up a really good system and I usually eat back my exercise calories as much as possible. Butttt I do think that for some people 1200 is maybe too many calories. I'm only 4'11" and my bmr is only 1256 so i'm not creating a great deal of a deficit without exercising. So yeah 1200 is good for the…

I have always been too underweight to give blood although I've always wanted to, and now i'm heavier I can't because of my crohns medication. Its a shame because i'd love to help out.

Not been keeping up with this topic because i've been swamped with uni deadlines, literally 5 hours sleep then all nighters editing footage in the mac suites. So i've been getting up, doing the shred, showering and heading straight out. So glad I've read today though because i've been feeling really demotivated. I'm on day…

Exactly the same, push ups and arm raises. Hurt so bad and i'm on day 10. I can't see me comfortably being able to do real push ups for at least a month. I can only manage 10 when I turn my hands inwards as I do them. I'm going to try 10 more days then see.

i've put on 0.4 ibs so far, and I'm on day 7. Butttt I have seen changes in my body, especially my arms. I haven't been really over on my calories, maybe 80 on my treat day so i'm hoping the gain is muscle. But then i don't eat a good healthy diet like most people on here so who knows. I'm just hoping the tape measure will…
