I am a really bad picky eater, if you have children THAT'S WHAT I EAT LIKE. I don't really like vegetables or actual meal meals. I enjoy all the bad stuff like pizza chicken burger and steak. I have always been this way and am trying to change buts its hard when I don't like any of the foods that are good for you. Does anyone have any suggestions on substitutes, or maybe so healthy meal choices that a child would like??

I posted a thread almost exactly the same as this about 3 weeks ago, and I got some really good support, mainly people giving me recipes that tried to 'hide' vegetables so I could get more of them into my diet. I must admit however I still eat rather badly as like you I eat kids food and can't stand veg.

Add me as a friend if you like my diary is open it might give you some inspiration for how to stay under the calorie goal while not eating healthy. I know its not ideal but I appreciate that there are those of us out there that just can't stand certain foods, unfortunately for me its the the ones that are better for us.

You can eat chicken, burgers, steak, pizza. You just have to eat an appropriate serving size, and eat vegetables with it. Go through the produce section and see what they have and see if there is anything you can tolerate eating.

My 6 year old is so picky, but I just remember to keep the things on hand she likes. She would eat chicken nuggets every day if I let her. Now I feed her regular chicken, but tell her she can cover it with ketchup if she wants. She likes cucumbers, tomatoes and green peppers, so I try to keep those on hand for her. She also likes to eat frozen peas and frozen corn.

Just try lighter versions of the food you love. And I am not talking about diet yogurt or processed diet foods. If you like chicken salad, make it grilled chicken on lettuce with a light dressing. I have found Marzetti Light Ranch is pretty good. Or I will do a garlic vinaigrette. Chop potatoes and bake your own fries.

  • That's what im trying to do is portions, i got soooo used to eating loads of food at one sitting i could easily eat to big hamburgers and mac and cheese. My stomach was so big and thats what caught up to me. I find myself not being as hungry as i usually was probably because the foods i am eating are healthier :) thanks!!
