Went white water rafting for 6 hours yesterday, then went for a hike. I am still sore. It was a pretty good workout!

My goals are to lose weight at a comfortable and healthy rate (no specific amount in mind) and decrease body fat/maintain muscle mass. Ideally my end goal would be to decrease my body fat percentage between 8-10%.

My workouts week 1 (and in general) are walking and yoga daily, hiking and lifting weights.

I look forward to getting healthier and healthier, working towards being the best shape I've ever been in, and looking forward to climbing mountains and doing a marathon.

There is a thread on here for the 1000 pound club, where your bench, squat, and deadlift weights add up to 1000 pounds or more. There was mention of 700 pounds being a good weight for women. On Friday I did my maxes on my lifts and am at 620 (135 bench, 225 squat, 260 deadlift). I am only 80 pounds away from the 700 club…

Anecdotally I have heard many stories of women gaining weight on depo. On a personal level I have lost most of my weight (over 100 lbs) while on depo. I am still using it and don't have any issues. When I first began using depo my doctor advised that as it is a synthetic pregnancy hormone it can increase appetite.

I did an awesome 9 mile hike on Sunday and ran part of the way. Today I squatted 2 sets of 5 reps at 215 lbs.

Nice job! I'm focused on increasing strength right now but I'll probably try to cut some weight in a few months.

I'm on Beaverton, OR!

Totally. Because I always get my opponent drunk first and pay the bartender to water down my drink. I also make sure to goad them into a large monetary wager first.

Today I set a personal record for deadlifts: 2 reps at 265. Later someone complimented me on my legs and asked me if I did any special leg and calf exercises. I was flattered:).

This is super awesome!!! Great job!!!

I can't even begin to imagine trying to run carrying over 100 extra pounds on me. I consider myself pretty fit and healthy now but it would kill me to try to run carrying that weight. No wonder it was so hard to even jog when I first started losing weight.
-
I'm now squatting 210 for my stronglifts 5x5. My deadlift is up to 245 for 4 reps, whoohoo.

Granted, however she is beginning to get a bit dodgey. Sometimes you find her vacuuming the house wearing your undies. And she keeps trying to set you up with her older friend. I wish I could teleport.

Hmmm, I'm thinking a stunning bikini and a trip to a tropical beach will be in order.

Nice job, everyone! It is so fun to read everyone's experiences. SandyCoils, I know what you mean about it scaring you to shop in the misses department. When I first started shopping there I felt like an interloper, like people would be thinking "what is she doing in here?". I can fit with ease in my seat on an airplane…

Squatting 205 for my stronglifts 5x5.

Stretching, yoga, pilates, and using a foam roller all help with my recovery after running or lifting heavy.

I'm now squatting 190 lbs, whoohoo!
