For purposes of the MFP categories, I consider myself sedentary since that is my 'steady-state' throughout my day. I sit at a desk 6-8 hours a day, rarely moving, I commute a 90min round trip, I'm asleep 8-9 hours a day etc. Since more than 75% of my day is spent in an unmoving state, then I can't argue I'm anything but a…

OT devotee here, you'll be fine. :) The class is a guided-circuit, so everything is completely adaptable to wherever your fitness journey is right now. The coach will clearly demonstrate every weight floor movement, and should give modifications as part of the demonstration if your body is still learning the full movement.…

I had VSG 4/16. I dropped ~105lbs within a year, leaving me about 20lbs from my goal weight. I remained there, despite all attempts at eating healthy/exercising. Over the next 18months, I've slowly gained about 15 of it back. Rededicating myself this month, hoping to finally get to my goal this year. I'm working on it by…

VSG - 4/28/16. Happy to support where I can.

20 months between, 105lbs. Size 24 to 6/8.

Fellow sleever here, also happy to have other friends. Pre-op is definitely hard, definitely recommend measurements and pictures as a start.

Speaking purely for myself as someone who has had the surgery, I'm not offended by questions like this as long as the person genuinely seems to want to understand. I've had people come off as 'Why were you too lazy to diet for real?' - and that's just obnoxious. CICO does absolutely apply to me, and I track my food and…

Same as the above poster. Start back with your week one paperwork and go through it again.

Those are rather useful when one is bleeding. Just sayin'

Hi - five months post-op on gastric sleeve here chiming in. Did I cheat? Yes, I cheated death. The end. To address the specific questions - Overall, the level/quality of nutritional courses that each of us go through before surgery varies widely. Some people wind up going through more coursework than the average MD (which…

125lbs (or half my entire bodyweight) here for me. 8 down - 117 to go. Happy to add new friends on the journey.

Fellow Medifaster here - hope it's still going well for you.

I'm a desk-jockey too. I work-out on my lunch break. I have a stupid commute, so working out before/after work are just too much to think about. I'd be either up at 5am, or not starting dinner until 10pm. I'm lucky enough to not be a clock-puncher, so nobody cares if I take 90min lunches as long as I meet my deadlines.…

Weight loss is a muti billion dollar industry. If any of these devices actually worked, they would never have hit market through banner ads. The entire company would have been snapped up by Pfizer, or GlaxoSmithCline and you'd be paying for it through your insurance. No pharma company could AFFORD to have a functional…

I'm running now, started around 250lbs. I'm incredibly fond of the Couch 2 5k program for building stamina slowly. 1. Get good shoes, get fit at a running store if it's in your budget. 2. Take it easy, cross train on days in between runs - don't try and just go pound the pavement daily. 3. Let your body tell you what it…

Like a previous poster said - it depends on your goal in buying one: If you want a pedometer/activity tracker to encourage you to make daily changes to your routine that you can use to track and motivate yourself - then a Fitbit is probably a decent option. If you're a hardcore exerciser wanting something to help with your…

I changed my diary around to show potassium instead of sugars (since they only let you have a certain number.) I found the day (or days) that I bounced back up or didn't see the results I expected were usually days that correlated with a crapload of sodium and very little potassium. That's pretty typically for the American…

That looks really tasty, I think I'm making that for lunch this week. Thanks!

Haven't quit yet.

The other idea would be to bring in your own bags of candy to fill the bowl. Just bring in candy you happen to hate, so you aren't tempted to go fishing in the bowl. That's what I do with Halloween candy - I love passing it out to the kids, and as long as it's not candy I like - I don't go snitching either.

I've never been a healthy weight, so I'm not sure what will look right on my frame. I'm aiming for 140lbs to start and then I'll re-evaluate once I get there. I like being active, so I'm sort of hoping I wind up with a stockier muscled frame and will happily settle at a higher weight if it's muscle driving it.
