Not small at all, but even if you do consider it insignificant just remember than enough insignificants add up to really SIGNIFICANT! Not so long ago I dropped below 250 and now I am below 190. So just keep at it.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! :flowerforyou:

As I've lost weight, I've become significantly more active, which probably counteracts the tendency to lose at a slower rate because of a lower calorie requirement.

I actually set my goal weight about 15 pounds higher than what I'd really like to weigh, just being realistic. I'm within about 12-13 pounds of my goal and still losing several pounds a month. When I reach my goal (when, not if) I will re-evaluate whether I want to maintain or keep going.:ohwell:

Great start. Pretty soon you'll be able to add other activities on the nights you don't bowl. I think you and your wife should find some scenic place to do a little walking . . . a park or nice shady street. Even a half hour of walking would do you both good. Or try swimming or aquasizing. Keep it up and gradually increase…

Is she showing signs of depression?

Well, the older you get the harder it is to get rid of the loose skin. But I figure loose skin is better than the 80-odd extra pounds (I have come from just about where you were, and aiming towards the same goal weight you have, and YES, I have a lot of loose skin hanging around). You might consider a tummy tuck once you…

Congratulations and great effort! :flowerforyou:

Doesn't matter, as long as it is consistently the same time of day and same amount of clothing (or lack thereof).

Doesn't it make you fart?

I just eat things I like . . . in moderation and with variety. I'm afraid I don't spend much time obsessing over what kind of a diet I consume.

It probably is to protect your stomach. With a little planning you should be able to work the med schedule into your meal routine.
-
Let it go. One day isn't going to destroy your metabolism.

Um . . . there's also bone there. But more importantly, your genetics determines whether you are apple shaped or pear shaped, and there's not much you can do about it.
-
Nonsense! I'm 74 and the older I got the harder it was to lug around the extra weight. You have a decade on me. Get busy and start losing.:flowerforyou:

Your mistake is thinking that cardio has to be something structured, like a class or treadmill. Get out and ride a bike (vigorously, 12-15 mph or on rolling terrain), and work up to 100 miles or more in a week. The time flies when you are doing something you enjoy.

Something to consider . . . and it might vary with the insurance company . . . but my doctor told me that if there is a documented health problem from the loose skin, such as recurring yeast infections in the skin folds, insurance might cover the skin removal surgery. Discuss that with your doctor and/or insurance company.

200 lb. Then it's all downhill (metaphorically speaking) from there.

No more than it makes you stupid. :smokin:

If your kidneys are functioning properly, that shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, and the key words are IN MODERATION. :glasses:

Each of us is fighting his or her own battle. Ultimately the only weight that matters is the weight that we as individuals have lost.
-
In just one week I doubt if it will be all that bad. Go ahead and just climb on the scale. But I hope you check with your doctor before you resume you're exercise routine.

I could go up the stairs without grabbing the handrail and hauling myself up with it. :ohwell:

A couple of thoughts on this thread: First, are you weighing/measuring and logging your food so that you know for a fact that you are eating at a deficit? Second, from my experience it seems like the first week of a diet usually sees a big (i.e., 3 or 4 or 5 lbs) weight loss, which unfortunately is mostly due to water loss…
-
You can vary more than 1 lb over the course of a day. While I suspect you're being facetious, I'll treat it as an honest question. But, why not go with 10 lbs? :ohwell:
-
Well actually that isn't even possible. :noway:

A male friend of mine who is 70+ years old recently lost significant weight, like 80 or 90 pounds, and looks terrific. He recently attended a meeting wearing a brand new suit that really showed off his new figure. One of the attendees asked him if he had cancer!

And BTW, I was a chemist for 35 years and analyzed a great many foods for residues of pesticides. I have also followed the yearly results of the FDA surveys of foods for pesticide residues. The VAST majority of foods, something like 90+% contain no detectable residues of pesticides (the limits of detection are in the…
