  • Hey Renae! I see you're from Stumpy Point! My dad's family is all from Hatteras and Frisco--long time Outer Banks family line.
  • Why does 3 cups turkey have 785 calories??
  • This one is a lot easier to use: http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php
  • No, you really don't have a "lot to lose." I started with having to lose 140 pounds-now that's a lot. Simply stated again--1200 calories is too low. I eat 1400-1500 a day and STILL have more to lose than you.
  • Depends upon your frame size, too. I am only 5'4" and at my heaviest weighed 279 pounds. I wore a size 26 jeans and 2X shirt. But, I have a very large frame for a woman and usually have to get clothes, especially shirts, that are too big in many spots in order to get them to fit my hips and my broad shoulders. It's…
  • Found it! They're in her profile pics-- http://www.myfitnesspal.com/photos/view/63224
  • I will probably have to have one by the time it's over. I will have lost--by the time I reach goal--140 pounds, or 1/2 my body weight. My lower stomach area will definitely have loose skin by then. DH is already asking me when I want to start looking into one. I'm going to talk to me doc in January when next I go back and…
  • Yeah, if anyone knows how the science of weight fluctuations, it's SBS! I used to weight two-three times a day--now it's down to once a day and sometimes I'll go 2-3 days without weighing. I put the scale in another room and closed the door. Out of sight, out of mind.
  • No problem--I love that one I posted--so easy to use! Just make sure that all the ingrediants were accepted. It will post a little red flag next to ones it doesn't recognize. If it does that, then do into their food database and search separately for something that matches the ingredient you're using and then use that term…
  • It's not a matter of being "offended" but of wanting to help but appearing to have previous advice not listened to--which, like I said, makes me wonder why keep asking. many people have come on here before and continue to ask the same questions over again until they seem get the answer they were looking for--which isn't…
  • Yeah, I was going to suggest smoothies! A banana smoothie maybe with some PB mixed in if you like that--loads of claories! "Starvation mode" isn't giong to set in after just a few days or couple weeks--I think I had put myself into it, and it seemed to take about 4-5 months of consistent under eating and hours on the bike.
  • I make a "crustless" pumpkin pie that I love--use Splenda instead of sugar, no crust. And, I use skim milk. Pour into pie pan and bake--great!
  • You've been here since May so surely you must have read at least once that 1200 calories is an extreme number that should only be used by those with ALOT to lose and who are under a doctor's care. Plus, 2 pounds a week is a lot really--a good healthy amount is about 1 pound a week. I suggest you reset your goals to 1 pound…
  • Go to the link below and enter in all the ingredients in the pie plus the servings. It will tell you how many calories per servings there are: http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php
  • Ok, just looked back and see that you have posted before about "not losing" and have been told by many others, including myself at least 2 previous times, that 1200 is not enough. You also said before that MFP suggested I think it was 1500 but you didn't feel right about eating that much but would try it. Have you tried…
  • How much did you select to try to lose a week. You really don't need to lose at all I don't think (to say it again) but you should be looking at NO more than 1/2 pound a week weight loss. If that.
  • Got to agree and say I don't think you need to lose weight. Maybe just tone. Oh, and there is NO WAY you should be at 1200--you're starving your body literally. 1200 is way too little given your size and age. Sorry. You need to eat more.
  • Nope, for me it's been all about the life change. I completely changed how I did things. Never exercised before--now I do 5 days a week and now can't imagine not exercising. I also changed how, when, and what I eat. I have cut back my calories but that is a permanent life thing, not a temporary adjustment. The goal, for…
  • Have to give us more info-- how many calories are you eating for one.
  • Why thank you, thank you very much! But save the big applause until I am issued my Onederland Passport!
  • [to the tune of "O Tannenbaum" I think  ] Oh, Onederland, oh Onederland! Oh, how I've longed to see you. Your lower numbers call to me, And, I wonder if I'll ever see, That scale drop down below the 2s and to that number bid adieu! Oh, Onederland, oh Onederland, I've struggled to lose pounds It's taken time and…
  • Onederland I like that! I can't wait until I become a citizen of Onederland! Does it have a National Anthem? How about a flag or motto?
  • WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! I was really good yesterday, stuck to my plan of Turkey with squash and peppers (helps its just me and DH too) and this morning, I'm down another 8/10 of a pound. That makes 77 pounds total loss and puts me at 202! Ok--now I'd love love love love to make it below 200 by Dec.…
  • :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: :noway: Fries and cheese--yummy! fries and gravy---I can see fries, cheese, and gravy--    I would have no problem resisting that!
  • --I eat 3 meals plus 3 snacks a day--between 1400-1500 calories. --I exercise 5 days a week for at least 60-80 minutes (longer usually if cycling). During warm weather, I pretty much only cycle. I am now stuck in the gym for the winter :grumble: Although, mixing it up will help maintain weight loss on a steady basis…
  • Yes, you can lose weight just by creating a deficit in your eating. Exercise is important for cardio healthy, toning, etc. but you can lose weight with just cutting back on eating.
  • I posted yesterday morning that Thanksgiving food wasn't worth having a "free day" for--it's just regular type food. Turkey, etc. I could cook that all the time, so can you, if you wish. Turkey is actually good for you but the potatoes, rolls, etc. is what does people in. I didn't even cook potatoes this year--made squash…
  • I've had lunch and dinner and still have 273 calories left, and that's with no exercise (taking today off from working out)
  • Riding is all I did for exercise period until the weather turn chilly. I don't do weights--long story but basically have decided that weight training--for me--is not conducive to weight loss, so am giving it up until I lose more weight. Anyone can ride! Just start slow--my first ride back in April was 4 miles and took 80…
